So Uruquart was talking about December 2022 when three months ago he said “soon”.?
You do see how that doesn’t really make sense, right?
The man clearly would have known about these plans to not show any RPG until Starfield is out before he made that blogpost. This would also mean next E3 Fable and Avowed are no shows on purpose solely for Starfield to shine…
With that logic, we won’t see Fable at E3 2023 because it’s then time for Avowed to shine. Nah.
They have never positioned anything as 1 rpg per year quite simply because it would be ridiculous and we would have to wait 7-8 years at that output for sequels to what would be successful games. Something truly absurd.
And Fable been a thing since 2017, got teased last year and I reckon should be out by 2024 at the latest.
yeah, I am not rolling with the narrative of a RPG a year. I think whenever a game is ready they will release it, but obviously would give something like 3 months apart and not something like 12 months
But last year we had Avowed AND Fable cinematic reveal trailers in the same show and I bet that if Bethesda had been at Xbox already and the trailer for Starfield was ready…it would have been shown there too.
Also, Xbox will want to provide some updates for the fans that are waiting for Avowed or Fable and we already had Obsidian talking about something for their game to be shown soon…but then it would be kept away until after Starfield? Doesn’t add up.
And except for a deep dive on Starfield next E3, what other big games from XGS can they show if not for Avowed and Fable? And last but not least, didn’t Grubb list inXile for 2024 or so? Avowed in 2023, Fable in 2024 if we go by what you expect …where does that leave inXile?
Is this something how you see it @Hindle ? Seams unrealistic for Microsoft to enforce a one rpg per year mandate when they have so many studios making rpg’s. If a studio wants to make a game that’s not listed above they would have to wait till 2029.
Microsoft is still expanding they should easily get to a point where they release multiple games in a single genre in a calander year.
