Gears 5 question…

I decided to reinstall it to finally check out Hivebusters soon. So it’s already taking up 43GB installed. I boot the game up and then I get a menu saying a total of 97GB needs to be installed for SP, MP,DLC and full customisation.

Is the game truly that huge in file size for everything? A whopping 140GB?

Hail to the option to only install what you need, that’s lovely.

I just wish they let us do this outside of the game in the Manage game menu , because it’s taking forever to only install Hivebusters.

No total is 97 (98,8 in my case). The game is big yeah, but not 140Gb big. It will probably get to 100Gb next upadte though. You can delete MP and customisations if you don’t play that.

Yeah , I now see that it was already counting the mandatory 43GB , I thought it was the other way around, haha.

But there’s no way to close the game and install these components via the dashboard basically? It’s running the game now and installing the DLC and it’s taking way too long to just install it, I am guessing because the game is running.

Battlepasses are a typical thing of online gaas, every season they change with new perks (weapons, skins, maps, etc), it’s like the campaing is a dlc of the main dish, which is multi in CrossfireX case. I honestly don’t know if the campaign will be episodic, there were rumours about it last year, but then it was delayed.

No, you can close the game. Your update should correct itself with what you chose in the game menu. The update can update itself ha ha, so you can play something else while it’s downloading, no need to sit on the menu.

Crossfire is a multiplayer focused korean shooter, Remedy is making a campaign for the console game and also for the pc only version (Crossfire HD I think it’s called) because Smilegate wants a broader consumer base for the game, expecially now it’s debuting in the west. Having said that, it’s clear multiplayer is still the main thing, but I wouldn’t launch it without the campaign, it would lessen the appeal of the game overall imo.

It’s 97GB total. Hivebusters is 7GB. You don’t have to install that until you are ready to play.

Wait, I can actually completely quit the game while content is installing? Because this happens in-game and when I go to my games and apps, manage game at Gears 5 I can only install Hivebusters add-on (10.1MB) and no options for MP, SP, etc.

So let’s say after Hivebusters I want to give the base campaign another shot, which I intend to. Can I just choose to install it in the install manager in the game itself and then close it down and it will still install?

Yeah, the different content updates are hidden inside the game interface is how I understand it. I know it’s weird, but I think you’re actually telling what update you want from within the game, so after you validate your choices, the right update will proceed and you can close the game safely.

I’m gonna try it out next time because that’s a really cool feature. You’d think nothing is going to get installed since it seems to be a in-game installer.

Where else are they suppose to show who developed the game lol you’re reading into that way too much, not saying it can’t or won’t happen but this ain’t it.

Maquette, Solar Ash and The Pathless are all coming to Xbox this year or early next year. FFVIIR got an extended exclusivity deal from June 10 to December 10.

The Avalanche trailer for Contraband says the same thing. Doesnt mean anything.
