Xbox Game Studios |OT5| DOOM posting not allowed. Except for posting about DOOM

Wait…was he really saying one RPG a year?

I thought it was one in the same period, like 3-4 months? Which he is also wrong about, but has a good chance of looking to be right. Based on the unlikelyhood of it happening anyway

But limiting themselves to one a year is such a stupid idea. They would never do that, even BEFORE Gamepass was a thing. Now with Gamepass it would just be ludicrous. They want to bolster the services lineup as soon as they can. That is the number one goal

Oh right! Forgot about those. Xbox truly is RPG Valhalla this gen, shiiiiieeeeet!

I still have my fingers crossed for Avowed because of sponger. In February he said we might see it this year and it could come next year. We are in a pandemic though so who knows.

Yup

Like I said I think a quarter in between big RPG releases is enough time. Nothing stopping for example: Starfield Q2 2022 and Avowed Q4 2022.

I’m gonna predict we’ll see gameplay for State of Decay 3 for a 2022 release window, call me crazy

I still say, even if by some chance, they were both ready to go within a month of each other…then they are coming out a month from each other

Gamepass changes things

They’re not so worried about overstacking release periods anymore. Not nearly as much as they would love to drop two huge titles like that in a short period of time. So they could have people hyping the crap out of Gamepass, so anyone still on the fence about a subscription, or even getting a Series console, will just have to give in and buy them

Hey I agree Pod. Game Pass changes how the release schedule is approached + marketing is relatively easier no? Have Game Pass? Just hit download on X date and boom.

Does he have a good track record though? We know RE verified him, but has he given info that turned out to be right or is it mostly only about projects far out?

My only worry with that is they don’t have any other content for other months, they need continued content over time not in 1 hit. Say they have 3 exclusive games in 2021 if they launch 2 in June and 1 in November that’s way to big of a gap between the 2 in June and 1 in Novemeber, it could casue people to cancel their sub and just wait till Novemeber then resub. They could get around that with 3rd party deals though.

Hey your’re worry trolling. He’s worry trolling everyone!!!

Just kidding

I get what you’re saying, but I think they will be in a place in not too long, where this concern is not even realistic. With all the first party and third party stuff they will be able to count on, through out the course of a year

lol

Yeah I agree 100% they will get into a spot where they will have to do it because there won’t be enough months in a year haha, it’s just a little too soon imo.

He has been the source of everything we know about Avowed or InXile, so time will tell. I don’t think there has been any other source. At least he picked two studios in close vicinity.

Yeah, I remember him saying some incredibly promising things for both RPGs. And that the inXile RPG was truly huge, that this was going to be something special. He gave a lot of info last year.

Can someone tell me how the last Wolfenstein ended? idm spoilers maybe use the spoiler tag thingy.

Edit: I should say the mainline one.

I mean it depends? Cause Youngblood is a sequel to #2 and it involves time travel I believe at the end.

Which ever had whoever BJ (main character I think?) last

New Colossus ends with many story parts to solve and Youngblood is like 20 years later with many plot holes, so they still have to end BJ story.

I think @Klobrille said he knows his shit.

No it hasn’t but they showed that clip at the end of last year’s trailer and Obsidian is usually pretty efficient so I can see a short under 5 minute gameplay trailer.

Yeah, this isn’t happening. If Starfield releases in November 2022, that would mean we don’t hear/see anything from Avowed or Fable until 2023??? Just no way. Don’t see this happening at all.
