The casino level has the potential to melt eye balls with all the neon lights and all that. I hope the HDR implementation is good and it Double Fine take a note out of Sea of Thieves which has a night and day difference between HDR and SDR.

Decided to watch the first bit of Jeff Grubb’s Game Mess…

Fwiw

  • He doesn’t believe at all BGS will give a teaser before E3, they will keep it all for the big show.

  • We will probably see some gameplay of Starfield, he’d be surprised if there isn’t. He doesn’t think it will excite people to show a CG trailer with “coming holiday 2022 or something”. If they show gameplay it has the potential to dominate E3, even if it’s more than a year off, he says.

  • He says Psychonauts 2 will not shadow drop at E3. It’s gonna come later in the summer, probably, he says.

The whole thing is almost two hours, yeah no thanks. This seems all that there was about Starfield. I could be wrong but that Q1 2022 turned real quickly into holiday 2022 for him too. Maybe I misremember, but didn’t he say Q1 or at least March? And the things he says here, I think anyone could have guessed that.

On a serious note guys, what do you expect Typhoon game to be?

Judging by these little teases by Jeff, Nick and Jez, my guess would be some sort of a multiplayer title, but nothing else comes to mind.

Yeah, those screens are awesome of it. If DF can’t get a proper HDR implementation working, hopefully the auto HDR team can do something because I keep being impressed with auto HDR. Be a big shame if we get elevated black levels and just a off look, but let’s wait and see. If there’s HDR, Double Fine may bring something great.

He indeed said 2022 and I think we all were quite okay with it, especially when he said Q1 2022, I could swear he said this, or he said March. I clearly shouldn’t have taken it as face value.

Monday or Tuesday, lol don’t be worried it’ll be 2 weeks after they announce the date which is plenty of time to market it. I’m sure they’ll do a daily “it’s X days till E3!” too.

You need to realize that the landscape is changing with virtual only events, you don’t need 1-2 month notice anymore as most people are at home now and there is no travel invovled. Virtual events only really need 2 weeks.

Also it seems like Xbox is aiming to lower expectations before events, the lower the expectations are, the happier people will be.
