Iâd release games on all platforms with GamePass. When youâre releasing on Xbox, PC, and being available on Android, iOS, TVs, and new streaming hardware, you have the entire market covered. This may be hard for some to come to terms with, but the PlayStation is not a statistically relevant platform.
The only one product which really makes sense for me with that long updates is Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Halo Infinite probably has some similar plans for long updates and to work as a platform, not only as a single game. It makes some sense as well, but I donât think itâll last 10 years as well.
Of which the Education edition is only on WinOS, Mac, Chromebook, and iOS. So nothing to get in the way of keeping a MineCraft 2.0 off PlayStation if they donât support GamePass, since itâs not on there now.
Yeah if minecraft 2 ever happens, which i highly doubt it will, that game should never touch a Playstation or nintendo platform in any form. Thats just the kind of console selling kid friendly content xbox needs
Mojang is a first-party studio for more than 6 years already, so they should work as a first-party studio as well, not as a third-party forever.
They were obligated in 2014 to keep Minecraft multiplatform at the beginning, but it doesnât rule out to have more Minecraft games in the future.
Thatâs why I would keep Minecraft Dungeons exclusively to Xbox ecosystem. Itâs not related to main Minecraft game at all. Itâs a completely different take in that universe.
I know theyâre doing their business like semi-independent, but they could keep that only for main Minecraft and the rest of projects (like next Minecraft spin-off) should exclusive to Xbox.
If Microsoft could potentially take The Elder Scrolls VI exclusively to Xbox which was multiplatform for last 2 games and itâs selling million of millions units then I would make that move to keep Minecraft brand with its newer projects exclusively to Xbox. Simple is that.
But⌠I wouldnât be even surprised if Microsoft would release some potential next-gen patch for Minecraft only on Xbox Series X|S, without PlayStation 5.
