Xbox Game Studios |OT5| DOOM posting not allowed. Except for posting about DOOM

Hopefully it doesnt end as anything close to the current PUBG. PUBG on consoles is embarrassing.

The last thing you’d expect from IO.

Jez has the hard documentation for this particular project… and he says it’s actually risky considering the studio and how ambitious the game is.

I’d release games on all platforms with GamePass. When you’re releasing on Xbox, PC, and being available on Android, iOS, TVs, and new streaming hardware, you have the entire market covered. This may be hard for some to come to terms with, but the PlayStation is not a statistically relevant platform.

I think Minecraft is a different animal when talking about exclusivity since it’s used for beyond gaming.

Another game with plans for 10 years?

The only one product which really makes sense for me with that long updates is Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Halo Infinite probably has some similar plans for long updates and to work as a platform, not only as a single game. It makes some sense as well, but I don’t think it’ll last 10 years as well.

Of which the Education edition is only on WinOS, Mac, Chromebook, and iOS. So nothing to get in the way of keeping a MineCraft 2.0 off PlayStation if they don’t support GamePass, since it’s not on there now.

Yeah if minecraft 2 ever happens, which i highly doubt it will, that game should never touch a Playstation or nintendo platform in any form. Thats just the kind of console selling kid friendly content xbox needs

Hopefully there will be option to play solo, like in Diablo which was mentioned many times as a comparison.

Yeah, it should have this option.

Even MMOs can be played solo.

I would make it exclusive to Xbox.

Mojang is a first-party studio for more than 6 years already, so they should work as a first-party studio as well, not as a third-party forever.

They were obligated in 2014 to keep Minecraft multiplatform at the beginning, but it doesn’t rule out to have more Minecraft games in the future.

That’s why I would keep Minecraft Dungeons exclusively to Xbox ecosystem. It’s not related to main Minecraft game at all. It’s a completely different take in that universe.

I know they’re doing their business like semi-independent, but they could keep that only for main Minecraft and the rest of projects (like next Minecraft spin-off) should exclusive to Xbox.

If Microsoft could potentially take The Elder Scrolls VI exclusively to Xbox which was multiplatform for last 2 games and it’s selling million of millions units then I would make that move to keep Minecraft brand with its newer projects exclusively to Xbox. Simple is that.

But… I wouldn’t be even surprised if Microsoft would release some potential next-gen patch for Minecraft only on Xbox Series X|S, without PlayStation 5.

Can they? Even The Elder Scrolls Online is playable solo?

Even if they’re not acquired… it’s the beginning of a very long partnership for Microsoft and IOI if this IP turns out well.

And this game is supposedly targeting 2024-25 while people here say Fable cant come out earlier despite starting work in 2017.

He’s misquoted jez on the documents… the documents on project dragon are very recent like February, the Contraband info is old.

10 year games. So hot right now.

This 10 year plan stuff has ever been done before? I don’t think they’ll be able to do this, even so I hope it’s a good game.
