Xbox Game Studios |OT5| DOOM posting not allowed. Except for posting about DOOM

I have a feeling this kojima game might be the best most innovating thing ever or just some decent game. I hope its the first since they wanna leverage cloud and I believe flight simulator barely scratched the surface of cloud computing in video games.

So is this going to be xCloud exclusive or will it stream the physics/assets from cloud?

I would think that Microsoft would try to get the Kojima deal done by September so they can announce it at the Tokyo Game Show which would be a huge boost for Xbox in Japan.

They could always show a trailer of some sort at The Game Awards or wait until E3 2022 after the Tokyo Game Show announcement.

im thinking more using cloud computing to stream assets/data/AI or destruction based like crackdown 3. Main benefit is you will be saving some headroom for other stuff in the game, hence why you see the xbox series x capable of pushing 4k 30fps on a really heavy game like flight sim

It’s just going to be like Microsoft flight simulator, which is mostly cloud based… you’ll be able to play it on your console.

Flight Sim can also be played offline right?

Yes but the terrain would look off, refer to this article

It is Kojima. You know it is going to be at VGAs first. It might come at the TGS, but Kojima loves being a celebrity, so VGA will be his emphasis.

True but they could have an announcement at the Tokyo Game Show and at TGA, he could have a CGI/in-engine trailer like he did at Sony’s E3 2016 with Death Stranding.

You have to cache the region that you will fly in, for a truly offline experience.

Hope he does not come up with a new basket of fruits this time round. It might be an mgs reference of some kind, but this cryptic nonsense is so silly.

Yeah, but it’s Kojima. It’s what he does.

welp looks like its a VGA thing now, I was more hoping for avowed gameplay trailer this year. Fingers crossed for gamescom, Grubb and many others said obsidian had something to show already and development was going super well. Actually, xbox also might have XO this year with the truckload of games in the pipeline

A TGS reveal would be awesome. Last year’s TGS showcase from Xbox was… cute, but was pretty much a list of already announced Japanese games that were coming to Xbox. Was cool for Phil to make an appearance though.

Fun fact: Halo 3 ODST was actually announced at TGS, under the Halo 3: Recon name. Would be great to see MS make game announcements there again.

Yeah I’m more interested in getting a gameplay trailer of Hellblade 2 or Avowed during VGA than this Kojima deal. Not everything is about scoring a W against PS fanboys.

If Avowed is 2023, I would much rather see a long 8-12 minute gameplay segment at E3 2022 instead of a short gameplay teaser trailer at TGA.

But if do bring back X021, then maybe there since it’s an Xbox showcase. But if not, I rather wait until E3 2022. Imagine all the gameplay trailers that could be shown in a year from now.

  • Avowed
  • Contraband
  • Fable
  • Forza Motorsport
  • Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga
  • Perfect Dark
  • Redfall
  • Starfield

For X021, I would think that they would showcase Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite with the reveal of Compulsion’s game in the middle. Plus, if there’s gameplay segments at E3, the above eight is a packed showcase in of itself and when looking at those games listed above, Forza Motorsport, Redfall and Starfield would be second half of 2022 with Avowed, Fable and Perfect Dark being 2023 with Contraband and Hellblade 2 being 2024.

Agreed. Kojima is a huge name in Japan and Microsoft is doing everything possible to try and make Xbox successful there and announcing a Kojima Xbox exclusive would do just that.

I don’t think MS see this as a fanboy war with Sony. There are still people that think MS are not serious about gaming. Announcing a Kojima partnership at VGA is another step to show those fans they are serious about gaming.

Oh they are serious about gaming even without Kojima deal that I can assure you of. The Bethesda acquisition sealed the deal.

We all know MS is serious but there are still a bunch of people that don’t realize this. The marketing still has to continue…

Yeah I would see it more as a “W” for XGS published games from Japan more than I see it as a W against PS.
