Xbox Game Studios |OT5| DOOM posting not allowed. Except for posting about DOOM

Quake could very much have a killer campaign for gamepass and F2P arena online.

It just works.

I mean, itā€™s a huge multi media franchise, with unlimited earning potential, I just dont think MS will sit on it, Iā€™m expecting announcements about thier plans soon.

Huge fan of the series btw. New Vegas especially was a masterpiece

Personally, I would prefer every studio to work on 2 games at most (1 in full production and 1 in pre-production) so the game in full production can get completed sooner rather than later and out the door so we can finally play them and once that happens, then the pre-production game can then go into full production while a third title then starts pre-production.

To me, having so many projects at the same time if anything, everyone is working on the same single game just to get it wrapped up while everything else is put on hold due to spreading themselves too thin.

Single-player reboot, like they did with DOOM, exclusively to Xbox? Iā€™m in.

100%. Would love to see the series x being pushed to its limits graphically with Id tech on a reboot

I donā€™t think Bethesda likes the fact that a lot of fans think new Vegas is the best in the series. They rarely acknowledge its existence.

I doubt they would want a new Vegas remake. If one was going to be remade they would want their game remade. Fallout 3.

If they where to have new Vegas remade instead of fallout 3 which is older they would be acknowledging that obsidians fallout is best and I donā€™t think they will EVER do that.

People under the assumption that Bethesda wants to just loan out the IP lmao and if Microsoft is so hands off to the point that BGS will operate as usual why would they demand a game that right now doesnt seem to be in the pipeline?

Also dont want Obsidian or any of these acquired studios not doing new work unless its a massively dormant IP like Perfect Dark.

Bethesda have thier hands full with Starfield and ES, a new game from them wont be happening. MS are a business who just spent 7.5bn dollars to get thier hands on IP like Fallout. They are not going to wait to get a new game out, when you have a tv series starting up soon.

I mean Nadellas comments about wanting to own valuable IP to drive XGP sales then we have people thinking MS are just going to sit on Fallout.

CD Projekt Red had Witcher show from Netflix come out and you didnt see them rush out a game.

Either xbox is hands off with all their studios or they arent at all. They wont force a game nor will BGS give the IP to anybody I reckon. At best probably a co-developed game with Obsidian but I doubt it. Its not Falloutā€™s time and thats fine ā€¦ you got 7 other rpgā€™s.

There is being hands off with studios but not with IP, when itā€™s worth billions of dollars Javier. This is business and its IP that drives the subs.

A new Fallout is inevitable, and it will be sooner then later

Bethesda can take as long as they want with Fallout because Microsoft has too many RPGs coming out in the next 5 years. Also we may be underestimating how big The Outer World 2 can be with a bigger budget. Say what you want about the first game, but it did receive good reviews and was even nominated for GOTY. I think itā€™s best to let other IPs grow and let Bethesda control how they want to release the next Fallout game. I think itā€™s best for all parties if Microsoft other studios donā€™t touch Bethesda IPā€™s and create their own

The aim is to sell XGP subs, that we can agree on, what is going to do that is the big IP, the blockbuster franchises, Nadella said this himself. Based of this, I dont see MS letting Fallout be on ice, they need the big names more then ever before. And Fallout is a way bigger name then everything thatā€™s not ES or Halo.

There are rumors about a TLOU remake. Iā€™m sure that Sony will coordinate this with the TV series.

Regarding the Uncharted movie, these were also rumors that Bend was working on an Uncharted game (though itā€™s unclear if it this project has been scrapped or not).

It should be noted that CD project RED had little to no say or involvement with the Netflix show, it was attached more to the author rather than the developers themselves.

I think a remake of Fallout New Vegas is what Klob is referring to btw

I love The Outer Worlds and Iā€™m glad TOW2 appears to be in the works but I donā€™t think that the current amount of RPGs in development means that Fallout doesnā€™t need a new game or its own dedicated studio. These franchises doesnā€™t necessarily have the same fanbases (and the Fallout fanbase is huge, itā€™s what saved Fallout 76 from suffering the same fate as Anthem or Avengers despite the disastrous launch).

The Fallout IP is easily Xboxā€™s biggest RPG IP now (with TES). And certainly their 4th biggest IP overall with Minecraft, TES and Halo. It has a crazy amount of merchandising and a TV series in on the way (unlike their other RPG IPs). Itā€™s already 6 years since the last mainline Fallout.

Now that MS owns the IP, they should help Bethesda create and fund a new studio ala 343 Industries or The Initiative (which would be under Bethesdaā€™s umbrella rather than XGS so itā€™s still their thing ultimately) with multiple teams working on Fallout projects (with people from other studios that want to work on Fallout) like FO5, New Vegas remake, spin-offs (London would be a dream)ā€¦ Or just one project, I need to stay realistic. :joy:

The main con is that creating a new studio from scratch is hard (as seen with 343 and The Initiative and I remember Nadella saying it takes a long time or something like this) but the IP is already well established with a lot of guidelines, so why not.

I donā€™t think that BGS Maryland or Todd Howard would oppose this, they still have BGS Austin to support them on their projects (Starfield and TES6) and the IP is still within Bethesdaā€™s sphere of influence. And the fans donā€™t have to wait until 2077 for Fallout 5.
