I think there will be one game announced in particular which people could guess is in development, but the announce timing is still surprising (makes sense though, but more on that after the show).
That would be indeed something surprising at this point. Especially that we expect Obsidianâs AAA game Avowed now for at least some gameplay trailer.
I donât know how dev teams structure look like at this studio, but if if I understand correctly there is a separate team for The Outer Worlds sequel and there was a separate and much smaller team for DLCs to The Outer Worlds which were co-directed by different people than Boyarsky Ă Cain duo.
On the other hand⌠Wouldnât it be that again an announcement of another game a few years before its release? Especially what weâve got last year at Xbox Games Showcase and with original game announced just 10 months before debut.
This game had terrible marketing. Actually it didnât exist. Announcement at X019. After that most of the people forget about that and even didnât pay attention it was announced at Londonâs event. They showed us that again at Xbox Games Showcase with release date of episode 1 and again. Nothing more. Weâve just got some gameplay teaser at some LGBTâs digital event for just a few people. It wasnât something mainstreamish at all. Weâve got some interviews, etc., but again â Tell My Why had trace visibility.
Reception was quiet good, but there are also some opinions like one of the worst DONTĐODâs titles, some of mechanics and gameplay aspects are worse than Life is Strange and decisions donât matter at all. All-time peak at Steam was just 1,333 players and it was on episode 3 debiut, not after giving episode 1 for free. Even with receiving some single awards/nominations it didnât get through to more players.
It wonât be remembered very well. And since we are at remembering. There are still lot of people which would like to play the sequel for Remember Me, their first game developed for CAPCOM, after nearly 10 years.
It was a very, very odd period for Xbox. We had Bleeding Edge, Grounded, Tell Me Why, Wasteland 3, Gears Tactics, Flight Simulator and Battletoads almost back to back, and almost all of them fell down an obscurity pit.
They are so ofter forgotten that we still see that narrative that Xbox havenât released an exclusive title since Gears 5 on some toxic communities.
Itâs like they just wanted to release these games to get rid of them. So that we could go back to waiting and waiting in the desert of emptiness. Very strange.
The only Fallout we will see is something 76 related. I wouldnât expect any next gen fallout for a couple of years or any announcement of any kind. Just let the hype build up naturally.
I want Bethesda to expand so itâs not just Maryland calling the shots and their two support studios helping. If that continues there will be a 10 year gap between each entry in a series.
We dont wanna overshadow rpg franchises or make early announcements but It will be fine to just say âhey fallout is on a sticky boardâ? Thats not how Xbox nor BGS have operated.
