End of the day Sony is allowed some timed exclusives. The Bethesda Manoeuvre was an epic industry changing gutpunch they will likely never recover from.
Unless BioShock 4 is some 15 million selling game from the outset, these timed deals are “undone” by the time they show up on gamepass.
Deathloop is obviously not going to shift millions of PS5s…and 1 year hence it automatically moves more copies on gamepass…so what was the point in the end?
Him only saying “company culture” over and over shows how truly made up it is. If he was doubling down properly he’d at least have a real example. The idea that a de minimis amount of people are the sources for the company culture of Bethesda changing is insanity.
“Culture Change” does not occur that quickly, it occurs slowly over time. They probably haven’t even switched over to Microsoft email addresses or have their 401K, medical, etc… type stuff changed yet. To think MS swooped in and started messing with their internal culture so fast is well kinda dumb.
The only thing MS would push for new projects with Zenimax is to use Azure over AWS with plans to migrate Zenmax’s AWS services to Azure in 1-3years.
Wonder how much money Zenimax will save from not having to pay for Cloud Services, Havok, Playfab & Simplgon etc? Be interesting to see if it would offset not selling to Sony’s platforms.
Normally I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but geez, what a clown. Clearly he had no actual source and was stirring the pot for clicks. At least I can safely ignore anything he states in the future.
Nah Halo: Infinite will be the biggest Halo launch ever. It finally being on PC will be a huge draw, multiplayer being F2P is huge as well, gamepass helps a lot and Halo as a brand trends with Xbox. Xbox has momentum and Halo will follow.
Those are just much better conditions for Halo to thrive than what it hard during the Xbox One era.
