For me as an Obsidian Stan, not including making statements that are immoral, this is probably the dumbest take that someone has ever said about gaming.

*Eh, my previous comment was kinda mean-spirited.

Yeah, Ryan has been full of “hot” takes for a while.

Horizon doing pretty good on Steam, good to see!

No surprise here. Releasing games on Steam is basically free money for Xbox.

I’d say even mmos. Specially since so few these days can get away with a subscription.

So make lots of MMOs and MMOs lite, that require no sub, but put them all in gamepass so even the customers that are playing these games has a reason to subscribe

I wonder if any of the other studios could jump on and help Starfield to try push it for sure this year.

I mean if something isn’t ready Im not sure just throwing more resources at it is the best choice anyway.

Well depends what they need done, bug fixing and stuff like that it would help.

Offcourse. I have heard that things like these happen all the time.

Recently heard something similar about battlefield 6 getting support from Need for Speed game studio.

I’m sure MS will open the floodgates of tech and support for them, Phil says this actually.

They’ll mostly help with optimizations for Xbox with VRS and maybe XVA.

Yes, Criterion’s NFS 2021 has been put on halt for the studio to help get the next Battlefield out.

Same kinda happened with Campo Santo when their “Valley of the Gods” either got axed or put on hold as the team got assimilated into Valve to make Half Life Alyx.

Yeah since the deal is closed they can go to these studios and actually help which is nice! I think people underestimate the whole we’re one big family we can all help each other out. For example someone from Undead Labs could call someone from The Coalition and ask about some UE5 help, then they could point them to Ninja Theory who had just had the same issue and figured it all out and so on.

Since they’re all one family they don’t need to worry about company secrets or w/e because they are all together anyway. The quality of all Xbox parties will go up because of this.

Well of course for some help with Q&A or the like, I was refuting that one would need to “push the game” to release this year. I would rather the game comes out when its ready and that it doesnt need to be forced. Like crunch, more hands do not make work happen any faster.

Like you say MS is in a position to help now, even if that is to just give breathing room from Zenimax investers shouting for a release. They shouldnt really force it to happen just to get it out.

Well I obviously don’t want them to rush the game out, that’s my whole point of sending more teams in to help so they don’t rush it out with bugs and such. Would be a clutch year to have Starfield + Halo launch.

Sorry I understood by “push it out this year” you meant force it

Given the history of Bethesda RPG’s I would rather wait a little if they come out near perfect to show that MS can give a studio the time they need to hit it out of the park. As I say, I’m not bothered when it comes out if its ready. No use trying to load the holiday season like they used to do

Haha nah you’re good, yeah I don’t want it to be forced out that would be a nightmare.

Yeah to be fair if it’s a 2022 title then damn I think 2022 is going to be the biggest gaming year probably ever. Big Xbox games, big PS games and big Nintendo games. There’s so many games pushed from 21’ into 22 that I’m kinda worried we’re going to have too many games to play :joy:
