You’re lucky it’s not Crackdown 4, or unlucky.
I see people making some good points on Reddit about Starfield though.
While indeed many people would watch a Starfield stream, many more are watching E3, especially since there was no E3 last year. This is the big one after Xbox bought Bethesda. They also say Bethesda has some trust to gain after F76, which is not a unreasonable thing to say. For those reasons it would be a mistake not to have a big showcase at E3 they say.
Well, we don’t know what is really true here. Didn’t Jeff Grubb say he had some Starfield things to talk about this week? I will wait and see what our friend says.
It sounds like everyone in this thread has a case of “The Mondays”.
last year wasn’t even a bad year! we had plenty of releases right up until the series x|s dropped then xbox game studios went silent.
Their sit down with Bethesda to me was more exciting than the actual Xbox series x|s console launch…I didn’t even pre-order an Xbox because I wanted to wait for the first party games. I ended up getting a Series S because of the wonderful software features and Game Pass. It’s the best console I’ve ever owned! That’s why we all get antsy for new releases.
Did no one see phil spencer changed his profile pic on twitter to Raz, its coming boys
Yeah I think a shadow drop is highly likely now.
Sort of…
I mean it’s hard to ignore the fact that in the last 12 months, during the pandemic.
PlayStation have released Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsunshima, Returnal, Spiderman, Demon Souls, and in a few weeks Ratchet and Clank…
Wrong day but I’ll somewhat play…not including studios in which I didn’t play their games.
- The Coalition (Gears 5)
- Ninja Theory (Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice)
- Arkane Studios (Dishonored DE/Dishonored 2)
- Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within 2)
- Playground Games (Forza Horizon 3)
- Id Software (Doom 2016)
- Machine Games (Wolfenstein: Youngblood)
- Undead Labs (State of Decay 2)
Studios not listed is because I haven’t played their games.
Yep and the windows store version is up as well I believe. The game is going to be released by June it seems.
An E3 Pshychonauts 2 shadow drop attached to a great show could do bonkers for Xbox image, this game has no real “perception value” being multiplatform, but if they can ride the hype in the right way it could be as useful as an exclusive.
Yeah, Gamepass is amazing and all, but that shouldn’t shield Xbox from valid questioning.
Also, my personal concern isn’t about what they’ll release this year (even though it’s understandable the discussion around it) , but what will they show this year. I was expecting a deep dive on Starfield, a new demo of Halo Infinite and the usual demo reveal of Forza Horizon 5… And that was it, my expectations for this E3 was very, very low already…
But now, between this possibility of Starfield only receiving a small trailer and E3 content getting cut because it’s “not gameplay”, well, things are not looking so good. As a said before, an E3 that holds itself on a new demo of Halo and a reveal of Forza keeps the (false) narrative rolling and rolling. Even more if Sony goes on and show new demos from blockbusters like God Of War, Horizon, Spider 2 and etc.
And if I’m being completely honest here, right now I’m not 100% hyped for new Halo showcase. It’s already been 3 years of teases, trailers, articles and what-not… I’m done watching it, I want to play it. So it leaves me only with Forza.
I really hope that Project Omen is real and it’s announcedd at this E3, cuz right now my hopes of a good E3 rests on its basket.
value would be the only 4k 60fps version for console would be on series x with no loading
Nobody will care, the game is no AAA, unfortunately this is the truth. Value is Game Pass.
@Wake_Lestat360 I agree with you, Xbox has already showed many cool concepts, now they must show concrete things, CG and/or “in engine” trailers are cool only at reveal, not the second time (and Everwild already had 2 of these presentations). 2021 games MUST show gameplay sections and already announced 2022 (targeted) games should show at least vertical slices/cinematic mixed with gameplay trailers. I’m not even expecting long demos like others, I have a very low bar, but I see many people saying me I expect too much. Then I worry for the future honestly.
Plus its still going to look reaaallly good on PS5 running the backward compatible ps4 copy. Art direction is great on Psychonauts 2.
People with playstations are going to watch the IGN review and pick it up on the PlayStation store, they aren’t going to go to Digital foundry and count pixels for a Double Fine game.
Looking at this list… Insomniac is such a fantastic studio.
Two AAA titles due to be released within 6 months.
When I saw the 153+ new posts I was hoping for some acquisition news but was prepared for nothing.
I got @Klobrille as a favorite on twitter. Everytime he tweets I get a notification to my Apple Watch.
Don’t worry next week is the real deal, the month is only beginning.
