Xbox Game Studios |OT4| This is for Studio talk. Studios. It's the Studios OT. Studio talk here (Part 1)

Nono thats not my question. Would you be okay with playing xbox games via cloud on Playstation/TV?

lol no one will be selling their console, such a hollow threat. BRB, going to sell my console over rage for a less powerful console and no game pass.

It would be such a colossal mistake to do that for Xbox though, and for what? So that they don’t miss out on PS5 copies sold of these games? I’m no math wonder, but I bet getting more and more Game Pass subscribers would get them a whole lot more, and I thought it was all about growth for Game Pass.

I agree partly with the notion that it doesn’t really affect me one way or the other because I’m getting all their games on gamepass no matter what, but just taking a step back and looking at how hot this discussion is over something which is pretty obvious I feel the need to point that out.

Colossal mistake or not, why does it impact someone’s enjoyment of a console they currently own and enjoy? It just reads to me as if some people don’t want others to have things, which somehow makes them feel better? If PlayStation, Nintendo, etc gamers can play zenimax games and I can still play those games on Xbox and get them day one on GP? That’s awesome for me and awesome for gamers. The business side of it, well, it doesn’t impact me so I don’t care.

Yes, not to mention legit reasons for the users that invested in the platform to see it strong and better supported as well.

Look below for Klobrille’s comment. Exactly how I feel. I want Xbox (Game Pass) to continue growing, for more devs to take notice and bring their games over. As a big Xbox fan I’d like to see them doing their best to make it worthy for us, but if they support the competition…which it would be doing if they bring games to PS5 without a ecosystem of theirs on that platform…I’m sorry but that’s just off.

In no way is it for me to be able to say ā€œnope, you can’t have theseā€ to PS only people. Well, maybe the very annoying loud ones, I will admit that. Lol.

This!!!

yeah but except they will spend less time and money on the platform

Again, I don’t care about the business side. I’m a consumer, I’m all about gaming that benefits everyone. I think Microsoft had made it quite clear they’re invested in gaming for the long haul, and I don’t think this changes if the games are or aren’t exclusive. As a consumer, I’ll still enjoy my Xbox - the platform, services, hardware, games, etc. - even if others can access those same things on their device of choice. I have no idea what’s going to happen, but I’m just excited to play games from these studios with the backing of Xbox.

Would you enjoy Xbox when games skip it completely and/or get moneyhatted by Sony while Sony gets all the same games Xbox does?

Interesting part about it is how it was in response to the question ā€œWhat 2021 game are you most excited for?ā€ which makes me think it’s something wholly original and not just a new great racing game.

Defer to you all on which studios it could be given production timelines.

Man I hope, FH4 is so good but I almost finished the game

I need some FH5, Playground !

Either way, it doesn’t affect me unless the games don’t come on Game Pass. I could care less if the game sells on Playstation, as long Xbox’s Business healthy (and it is in a MASSIVE way), then I’m content on just playing games on Xbox/PC.

Spending time away from ERA/Gaming forums and actually just focus on playing games makes you realize no one really cares outside this bubble, most gamers just want a steady stream of high quality content on Game Pass.

Of course nobody cares. They go after the most popular console anyway, which * ding ding * not Xbox. I have a bunch of friends who were on xbox 360 and then switched to ps4 and now went to ps5.

But those are related - Sony’s business is healthy because they are getting exclusive content - first party, time exclusivity and so on. How many Yakuza games was on Xbox before? Do you think we could not get them earlier? Sega did not have devkits till 2020? All of that because Xbox did not have the market share big enough not to be ignored. We still can’t get Persona on Xbox for example.

Each exclusive the platform loses, means somebody else gains it. That is the reality of business. Aggressive competition is what drives the business.

one of them is probably age of empires 4

The reality is xbox failed at very important generation last time, the generation the started the transition towards ā€œecosystemā€ rather than console. Before console generations were not connected - you did not have online profiles and digital libraries. You has backwards compatibility but it affected nothing.

Xbox failed in generation where the initial transition towards ecosystem started. A lot of people - for example - went from Xbox 360 to PS4 and then to PS5, because they got their digital libraries, trophies and accounts (Irony is that Xbox started it first)

Xbox is lucky that at least at the end the Chosen One appeared and got the keys to the Holy Warchest. He got the blessings from Microsoft Gods and started his crusade to purify Xbox from the TV heresy. But it is still the catch up game. Xbox has a lot of tools and a very strong foundation and it remains to be see how it’s gonna go. I am not getting tired repeating that Xbox was one step before being Segaed.

Another funny thing is that those ā€œin-game helpersā€ or ā€œshare playā€ I forgot how it’s called on Playstation, reminds me of those TV tabs in the original Xbox One.

Today was chaos and I have no idea why.

But that’s clearly not happening and isn’t realistic, so it’s kind of moot point. Would I still enjoy Xbox? Yeah. There’s other games to play on it, multiplatform and exclusive. I love using the controller, I love the console and platform features Xbox provides. I’ll inevitably miss games here and there, regardless.

I don’t care where or what I game on, I care about playing games period. I wouldn’t like that others who just owned Xbox consoles couldn’t play the games though. I’m not advocating for the games to be multiplatform, I’m saying that if your response to this possibility is extreme anger, sadness, etc., that’s potentially problematic. It’s just video games.
