New season starts this week as well.
Just looking at the all time peak for Halo, yeah the servers when Infinite gets released are going to be absolutely hammered.
" We are aware that players on Halo Infinte are having network issues "
I am already prepared to see that message on release day lol.
Any predictions for the 1st month peak concurrent users for Halo infinite multiplayer on steam?
Iâll say around 400k if it is received well.
What is the record till now? How has the most concurrent player till now?
PUBG was a bit skewed because of Chinese players I think, CSGO and DOTA have a separate Chinese client, so the actual numbers are much higher specially for dota.
I was looking at the same stats
I think Halo could easily reach those figures. PUBG was also Xbox console exclusive at that time.
Now Halo being even more well known franchise and much better marketing then PUBG - it should reach those figures.
The only reason it may not happen will be because Halo Infinte wonât be a Battle Royale like PUBG is.
Yup, if Halo had released with BR, my prediction would have been around 600k+ but the most popular FPS games on PC are either BR or tactical 5v5 shooters like CSGO and Valorant and its very difficult to break into the CSGO and Valorant space. Valorant succeeded mostly because it was made by Riot, most other game companies would have failed here.
Halo in their future plans will have a fallback plan to release a BR mode if the standard modes donât gain the expected traction imo or they might release a BR a year or two later regardless.
Going by the rumors, Infinte will have an option to make BR in its Forge mode. It could be revolutionary.
They are trying pull succes of Minecraft, Counter strike, Halo, Skyrim and Fortnite with one game here.
Let us see what happens.
MS secret plan to make people upgrade, melt their One consoles
jokes aside, for xcloud streaming games have to be rated by PEGI etc?
lo and behold, people overreacted Dringâs comments. https://twitter.com/Chris_Dring/status/1381525113892405252?s=19
There isnât. Sony has announced third party stuff for 2022 and 2023 (Pragmata, Forspoken) and Wolfenstein 3 was not a part of that.
Yeah thought as much, also he exaggerated a little too.
Games not coming soon, doesnât mean âyears awayâ from now, theyâll take their time as we all already expected.
I wonder why didnât he say the same things about GoW revealed with a logo and had a date for 2021.
Interesting
Still skeptical this would release on Xbox One.
I must have missed this. What did he say at first?
Perfect Dark, Fable and Everwild years away
I respectfully disagree. This guy had a shitty take and instead of owning that shitty take he decided to blame people for overreacting. I listened to that part and this is what he said (timestamped 26:45):
''If you look at the games, Iâve got an XSX I love it have PS5 love it I play on my PS5 cause Iâve got loads of exclusive games that I donât have on Xbox (yeah sure PS5 has loads of exclusives :D). And when you look at Xbox theyâve bought amazing studios those games are coming BUTâŚIâve had a few conversations with a few friends at Xbox studios those games Everwild, Fable, Perfect Dark are SO FAR AWAYâŚThere might be a new Xbox by the time those games come out (starts laughing at this part). Iâm talking about mid tier upgrades.
He does seem to apply double standards. Treats Sony differently than MS. Even though Sony doesnât have many exclusive games on the PS5, itâs just as barren as the XSX. And Sony also doesnât have the big hitters coming soon. Why only apply that logic to Xbox and give Sony a pass ? I mean MS could have FH5, Starfield , Halo Infinite this year. Thatâs miles better than Sony by that time.
And what does SO FAR AWAY mean. He didnât laugh at that part. So he was serious. Then he jokingly said by the time a new xbox comes out and softly adds he was talking about a mid tier console upgrade. So whatâŚ3-4 years ? So less than that is what 2 years ? Thatâs his SO FAR AWAY take ? Might as well say the same about HZD sequel or the next GOW or whatevers next for the big Sony hitters.
MS has so many studios, creating so many exclusive games. Not just Perfect Dark, Fable and Everwild. And theyâre starting to hit starting the 2nd half of this year and theyâll never look back. Not all of them are SO FAR AWAY. Thereâs going to be some nice hitters every year. I found his take very disingenious.
Gaming journalist makes exaggerated claim, waits a day or two, walks it back on social mediaâŚ
Iâll say 500k players on steam. 1.5 million total.
Halo mcc got 160k on steam and thatâs a collection of 10-20 year old games. And that cost money while infinite is free.
Halo 3 had a million concurrent players on 360 if I recall. So 1.5 million is what halo 3 did plus the 500k from pc
