That why I said ish, has it been confirmed to being a year? Kena is also a timed exclusive and that also looks good. To be honest I like the look of deathloop, but I would not buy it full price. A years wait and day 1 on gamepass seems like a worthwhile trade off. I just wish Sony would stop money hatting these AAA games, they don’t need to.

Why do people get so riled up about CGI trailers? They are usually shown only for the 1st time. They are not meant to represent gameplay 1:1 but to give a feeling of what the world and game is about.

Xbox had to show CGI trailers last time round because they know their games are early in production and games can change a lot. If they change then people complain about false advertising.

Why can’t just wait a little and see if Xbox is going to deliver on the ‘promise’ of the first trailers? After all no one knows what is truly possible this gen. It would be foolish to dismiss even the SoD3 trailer.

… to get draining, one moment everyone is all happy and exciting for gaming then we hit this depressing patch. Why are we even talking about these past games as if they are the blueprint for future games going forward. Almost all teams have being on hiring sprees, MS is investing more into Xbox then they ever have and we haven’t seen a game yet taking full advantage of these investments. All the games you guys are complaining about came out like 3 years ago when Xbox was still in the are we going to pull out phase. Can we at least just wait till something disappointing actually releases then complain? I think that’s pretty fair. I’m not even saying you can’t be mad or upset or whatever about the games it’s just we are now moaning about games before we even see them based of games in the past.

Earlier we were talking about Inside Xbox. It’s a fine name, I would say don’t change a thing about the name. I don’t believe it’s tainted or anything either.

All they have to do is show that the format has changed. Last year with the summer show they started off with a demo of Halo as we all know, this was a great way to start a show. But after that came way too many trailers that didn’t show a single bit of ingame material, let alone gameplay.

Hopefully their upcoming shows continue what Halo did for their summer show. Showcase as much gameplay as possible.

Say what you want about SoP today, the way they presented the content was exactly how it should be. Majority of the games didn’t do much for me, but the format was top notch.

… I agree. Assuming Halo and Starfield are locked in, the last piece of the puzzle is the Forza situation If Forza Motorsport doesn’t hit in 2021 then FH5 won’t hit til 2023…thats 2 studios going from 2 year turn arounds to 5 year…just doesn’t happen. Makes more sense for Turn 10 to take time, time to rebuild Forza Tech for next gen…which coming 2022 is fine. And Playground can spend 3 years making FH5 for 2021 (which is 50% longer then any previous game) and get to work on FH6 using the latest engine for another game in 2024 or 2025. I don’t think Jeff Grubb was wrong. Those 3 games and 3rd parties are more then enough for 2021 (plus Flight Sim and Psychonauts 2) Wolfenstein 3 would be better served next year.

I don’t think there is a Forza this year. Well maybe a Horizon compilation pack. This year I think is all about Halo. Next year Starfield, Wolfenstein III, Forza, and a few games from XBox publishing

Look, the reason why we got so many CGI trailers in the July event is because Xbox wanted to show just how much stuff they have coming out in the future, to get more people interested in Xbox. However, since all these games are so far out, they didn’t have gameplay ready. So what’s the best way to show games when gameplay isn’t ready? CGI trailers. Almost every single publisher does this. Look at Bethesda with Starfield and the Elder Scrolls VI. Just because you may not like them doesn’t mean they shouldn’t show CGI trailers. We’ll get gameplay eventually anyway. There’s really no harm in announcing things early.

CGI trailers are OK, a show based around them is not.

Forza Motorsport was teased at the Xbox July show and few month later I think Jeff Grubb talked about that a new Forza Horizon will be released this year.
