Xbox Game Studios |OT3| Once more....with feeling (Part 1)

I do think this is more likely than Starfield. But if we’re lucky, both.

I think we can at least get 3 more Xbox games announce at E3

When I look at Xbox for the second half of 2021 with Flight Simulator in the Summer (probably August), Forza Horizon 5 in September and Halo Infinite in November, there’s really no room for Starfield whatsoever and releasing a bunch of first party titles together would make no sense and do more harm than good.

If I get Wolfenstein III in Spring/Summer 2021 and Halo Infinite in November 2021 with Starfield and Hellblade 2 in 2022, I will be more than happy and satisfied. :joy:

I mean they did release 4 games within August this year not all big games tho

Ark 2 is multiplayer surprise  nahh for real this game has a massive following and it would be a money waster to make it singleplayer. Anyways would you expect anything good from a ark singleplayer I would not lol

I agree. It is an insane lineup overall. However, just because all of Microsoft’s first party titles are on Game Pass, doesn’t mean that im personally going to play every single one of them. On Game Pass or not, some games just aren’t for me. Microsoft simply needs to have games that I actually want to play and be of high quality.

As for Sony, I have no issues with their direction or model either because like Game Pass for Microsoft, Sony’s model works great for them. Sony has around 8-10 exclusives announced/released and I only have 100% interest in Spider Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Horizon II: Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok. Returnal is 50/50 at best and the rest, I don’t have any interest in whatsoever.

But with that said, I do get what you mean but thankfully for me, im not looking to play every single game out there. That’s just not going to happen.

Battletoads, Flight Sim, Tell Me Why and Wasteland 3 are the four games right? If so, only Wasteland 3 was from an internally owned studio and even then, it was published by Deep Silver. All four games are different and in some cases, just needed to get released and out of the way.

I seriously doubt Microsoft bunches their games together because all that does is create bigger gaps plus no one can play more than one game at a time so it’s like shooting yourself in the foot. lol.

I have a different approach, I have dived into new genres of games because I normally would never buy them. If every AAA game that MS pushes out now has great initial reviews, I will absolutely play them since it’s on Game Pass

Yes those four and if the games are ready why hold them not saying they all would be in the same month you could have Flight Sim in July (cause it said summer right?) then have FH5 in September Starfield in October then Halo in November

Oh okay. Fair enough. I normally play games day one and for this generation, one of my goals is to not have a backlog because if I do, I know those backlogged games will never be played because after a while, I simply lose interest plus there’s new games to play which I care more about.

The genre aspect, I understand but I have my “set” genres and whatnot so if im not into a genre (for example, RTS games), games being on Game Pass (day one or not) isn’t going to change that.

But I do understand your point of view.

Because having 4 games in 5 months is oversaturating your own shit and what happens if there’s nothing there for months in 2022? December 2021 and several months of nothing in 2022?

Spreading out your exclusives is the best way because you give each game room to breathe and get it’s audience while making sure that none of them will be overshadowed by their own other games plus outside of Halo Infinite in November 2021, the Holiday quarter of Oct/Nov/Dec would be better suited for smaller games anyway because vast majority will be playing the bigger third party titles like COD, AC, etc. so why compete with those games and potentially have months of nothing when you can solve both of those potential issues at the same time with a single decision?

bruh where is my concern trolling in my comments ? lmao

Microsoft can still announce :

  • Inxile new AAA rpg
  • Double Fine next game
  • Compulsion next game
  • Forza Horizon 5
  • Gears 6

And unnanounced Bethesda titles… that could be :

  • Dishonored 3
  • New IP Arkane Austin
  • New IP Roundhouse
  • New IP Zenimax Online (x2)
  • Wolfenstein 3
  • Fallout Next

Crazy.

While technically “unannounced”, Pete Hines did confirm Wolfenstein III was in development a while back and looking at the history of Machine Games, im definitely expecting it as a cross-gen Xbox/PC exclusive in Spring/Summer 2021.

Looking forward to seeing what all those other studios are working on and when they get revealed to see if they’re for me.

MS is working on alot of stuff 2022 could have Wolfenstein Hellblade 2 Dust fall Gears 6 FM and Avowed thats not including Ghostwire or Deathloop and XGP so they could have those four games at the end of next year

There will also be new studio acquisitions by the time E3 rolls around since Satya and Phil are openly talking about it.

MS has a clear goal of being the biggest gaming company in the industry.

True but none of this takes into account potential delays due to Covid-19 or any other reason for that matter. I just don’t see the point or purpose in forcing out a game when there’s already a blockbuster (Halo Infinite) there and the other one can be saved for early 2022.

2021 will most likely have -

  • Psychonauts 2
  • MechWarrior 5
  • Wolfenstein III
  • Flight Simulator
  • Forza Horizon 5
  • Halo Infinite

That’s an excellent year and doesn’t include smaller titles like Bright Memory Infinite, The Ascent or Crossfire X MP/SP.

2022 would have -

  • Starfield
  • Hellblade 2
  • Deathloop
  • Ghostwire Tokyo
  • Forza Motorsport
  • A few smaller titles

There’s no reason to overcrowd your own lineup. I don’t see any benefit or positive to oversaturating your own lineup of first party games when you can spread them out. Also, even if Starfield was done by Fall 2021, holding it for six months to get more time for optimization and polishing considering it’s Bethesda Game Studios if anything, is more of a positive because well, they can use all the time they can get.
