There was enough positive gaming financials in the earnings report that I wonder if they’re holding off announcing the next gamepass subscriber count until another event to get a positive swell later on, that wasn’t needed in this report because they already had a lot of good news. Or they’ll just mention it in the call.

That’s possible, they annonced the 15M milestone when they announced the acquisition of Bethesda.

Huh, I expected them to be at 20+. I guess the availability of the consoles and the lack of a big first party title slowed down growth from the previous quarter.

I don’t think there is any doubt at this point BGS games will be Xbox Exclusive, they just can’t officially tell us that until the deal finalizes.

But just now I spoke to someone on another gaming forum and he said he can see MS buying a few more studios and where they’ll keep some of the games multiplatform. Also that with the investment in Bethesda they’ll keep the shareholders happy, making the games exclusive isn’t really all that important.

Honestly, I’m not gonna claim I know so much about how these things go down, but that right there doesn’t make sense to me. But we’ll see.

Game Pass lower than I expected. I am sure subscriptions are console heavy right now, wonder if they are nearing a saturation point.

Might need to focus on PC and xCloud if they plan to sustain the growth we expect.

Was expecting Game Pass to be over 20M due to the Series X/S launch and All Access but 18M is still very good and I still believe that Game Pass surpasses 30M by the end of 2021.

18million is a great number once you think that Microsoft is only in phase 1 of their plan since their studios haven’t been churning out software. I think once we get healthy releases every quarter it’s going to be massive.

I do wonder how many subscribers they can get once they get xcloud stable and on the Series X server blades and allow you to get gamepass cloud only

That is not good reasoning. The big question is whether Microsoft is willing to forfeit 10 million copies of TES6 sold on PlayStation. Personally I think the answer is yes.

Windows 10 Store and Game Pass for PC are the worst launchers in my experience, even worse than EGS. Come on MS you are a software company.
