my reason why I think Game Pass wonāt be coming to playstation, I think sony is looking into starting their own service. Playstation Now rebranding + better cloud and more devices.
the problem is the entirety of Playstationās cloud infrastructure owes itself to Microsoft giving them Azure and PS Now can as a result never compete at the same level as Xcloud.
lol I suspect he means devices outside of Xbox and PC. But yeah, if game pass comes to steam, Iād love it, cuz the MS Store is dogshit. In fact, I think Gamepass will have a very big surge if it comes on steam, in the same way Grounded or Sea of Thieves had.
Honestly, I would be very surprised if the rumored KOTOR reimagining is developped by an XGS studio (and thus probably exclusive to Xbox / PC, donāt know if itās something that Disney would want) but I didnāt know that Brian Fargo was a Star Wars fan and that he almost took the direction of Lucasfilm Game at the time
Honestly, wouldnāt surprise me since they hired the combat director of god of war, well I think that was his position. I do wonder if Disney is okay with star wars being console exclusive, but would be massive if a Microsoft studio is creating it
Why do people want another Star Wars game so badly as an exclusive? MS should be making new IP, not relying on another companies IP. I mean, give Galactic Battlegrounds a Definitive Edition if you are that inclined but wasting AAA money on Star Wars is catastrophically dumb.
A good, brand new IP would be a draw for the ecosystem and would have the benefit of not being at the whims of the mouse. Again, relying on someone elseās IP is not a good idea for the ecosystem Microsoft want to make.
I have a feeling inXile is going to surprise us all once they reveal their game. For me personally theyāve never been that interesting because their games just are not for me, which is fine. But knowing they are making a AAA first person RPG and seemingly in steampunk styleā¦immediately makes me very interested.
Owning IP is always preferable. Coming up with a new successful one is a risk though. A Star Wars game will force Star Wars fans into the ecosystem where maybe they can fall in love with some of the original IP.
If Iām not wrong, Spiderman 2018 is the highest selling ps4 exclusive, well above 20 million and Sony had some of the best IP creation this previous generation who all actually sold great, yet none of them could outsell a swingy boi.
Xbox can do the same, have their own horizon zero dawn and Bloodborne and ghost of Tsushima, while also having an occasional spiderman.
