What first party games are they giving to other platforms? I mean they had to honor games like Deathloop and Ghostwire, and The Outer Worlds was out of their hands.

As far as we know all the studios are making Xbox only games, with only Bethesda remaining unknown since they legally still can’t fully say.

If they end up still shipping some of the Bethesda big guns outside of Xbox ecosystem despite so badly wanting every soul to use Game Pass…then I’m just lost, lol.

Dormant IP aren’t up for grabs I think. Today’s dead franchise can be one of the next decade’s biggest nostalgic revivals. And licensing revenue is nothing to scoff at, either. Konami is making bank off of the Castlevania anime and themed pachinko machines for example.

But what can they do with Dead Space and Deus Ex? Horror parks? themed USBs? Some IP definitely have no future outside of gaming.

A hint about the developper of the supposed KOTOR reimagining / new game:

Any idea of what developer could do it ? (if this game is really happening)

Interesting that he completely ignored all the replies that said InXile, but denied other suggested studios

And InXile would make sense, specifically with the budget reported for this game.

We’ve been going back and forth about whether Starfield releases this year or not. Be it the leaker of the (supposedly legit) screenshots saying it’s a 2021 release or Phil Spencer/Xbox mentioning the game left and right at almost every opportunity for a few days. But if the game isn’t revealed between now and “E3”, it sure as hell won’t come this year.

Because there is no way they’ll reveal it during “Gamescom” or just during some surprise event after June. So at least we know that.

There will be no announcement on starfield, one way or the other until after the Zenimax acquisition concludes. So expect a wait of up to six months.

Also, if cyber punk has taught me anything, a short high intensity marketing cycle may get you the mind share to reach the desired sales, while not giving enough time for fan hype to build the game into something it is not. The only downside is low pre-orders, but if you’re day 1 on GP, do pre-orders really matter?

Movies/TV, merch, remasters, etc. Again with the Castlevania/Konami example of what to do with a dormant franchise they have the Netflix show, farmed out a collection, and licensed the IP to Sony for a SOTN/Rondo of Blood PS4 port as well as the usual merch licensing stuff. (I highly doubt anyone is interested in making Dead Space or Deus Ex movies though :P)

(I highly doubt anyone is interested in making Dead Space or Deus Ex movies though :P) That being said Square Enix was dumb enough to sell the Hitman IP to IOI so maybe they’d be up for a deal on some of their dead stuff.

Square still owns the Trademark to Hitman.

IOI has an exclusive license to the IP.

The IP I would like MS to acquire would be Alpha Protocol from Sega to return in to Obsidian where it belongs. We may not get a sequel but it would make it would remove one hurdle to making it backwards compatible.
