Let’s make sure (I know conversation can wander organically) to stick to the thread topic. Take other studio and platform talk to the relevant thread please folks.
Only a sith deals in absolutes.
Very confident Jimmy, can you share if you have a source for this, or is it just confident conjecture? (My DMs are open)
I agree. They, with no prompting, keep bringing up Starfield as the next thing that really excites them about future content. They’d be more circumspect if it was further out. They’re confident that it’s almost baked.
Gameplay at E3 (or equivalent), with a September release.
I agree to an extent but remember, Starfield was the only forthcoming game they can hype that is announced until they announced Indiana Jones. Wolfenstein 3 hasn’t been fully revealed. New projects from Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog, Roundhouse, Id and Zenimax online haven’t been announced at all. Deathloop and Ghostwire are PS5 timed exclusives. If we’re lucky, ES6 is less than half a decade away. That really only leaves Starfield.
World’s Edge are not developers. They have some developedrs but not enough for a big game as AOE or Galactica battlegrounds (i really loved that game).
Relic Will be Busy on next AOE4 DLC and AOE5
I’ve already followed It. I asked about RELIC’s acquisition
I’d like to suggest you and xboera staff a next step that would be really cool for all of users here.
Could you try to invite Phil Spencer for a Q&A? We could ask him something about next Xbox future plans, shows (there Will be an E3?) Etc… I think It could be very appreciated cause the Xbox Fans Festa Is actually impossibile due covid.
“So we want to have those conversations with the community to figure out what we can add, and things that they want to see in the game, [like] new game modes. So we’re starting that conversation with Age II or will be soon. Age IV is going to be the same. We definitely have ideas of where we want to go past Age IV in terms of expansions and those kind of things. A lot of that is going to be driven by the community and where they want to see the game go”
I hope this zooooooooooo much. So damn ready for a new BGS game. I doubt it’s going to be shown at streams before summer, so if it’s coming this year it’ll be at the “E3” I bet.
But it’s true, ever since Fallout 4 they have been using this approach. Fallout 76 too. The only difference is that Starfield was announced very, very early.
Starfield to me seems the most obvious contender to miss 2021. Especially after reading J Scherers recent tweets. People need to realise just how covid is affecting the industry
I think you’re asking if he’d do a sort of Reddit style AMA?
We create a thread, you guys ask all the questions, and he can pick and choose at his will what he answers?
It’s a great idea.
Definitely something we can explore as we grow. Phil is a busy guy, and in the grand scheme of things, we’re still very very small.
But you’re all helping us grow and get to that tipping point - the more folks that bring their Xbox and gaming friends to our platform here, as well as twitter and YouTube etc, the more cool stuff we get to do and work with on your behalf.
Doesn’t matter. If Tango is being taken care of properly and only good things are coming out of them by word of mouth, that definitely can help Microsoft in Japan in general when it comes to relations with devs.
I’ve lived and worked in Japan. MS have zero presence there and don’t understand the market as it’s been proven time and time again. It’s also a logistical nightmare having to manage studios on the other side of the world.
MS are better contracting, and partnering in JPN instead of acquiring
