I don’t think they ever needed redeeming. Gears 4 was gears concentrated. If u didn’t like gears before then 4 wasn’t gonna change your mind. Just dialed everything to 11. I loved it. Gears 5 did things different a little. I didn’t like the open world parts but it’s still great
While this is true, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Bethesda will make exclusive games for Xbox. Whether or not those exclusive games are existing franchises like DOOM or Elder Scrolls, is the bigger question.

I’m just not sure Phil has it in him to make ES6 or DOOM exclusive. I think they should, because the Xbox Box ecosystem is a number of devices anyway, but I ain’t the head honcho.
I definitly think this franchise are going to be exclusive.
This is the best way to get more people in Xbox ecosystem, take games they like and make it exclusive. It’s even better than create new IP because Bethesda’s licence already have lot of fans who are going to switch for Xbox

I’m just not convinced yet, Xbox seem to be playing a very long term game which is part of the reason a lot of people are frustrated by ‘waiting’. I think Xbox may want to keep the short term profits and long term good PR of keeping them multiplat (maybe with timed exclusivity or exclusive content), and making new IP’s exclusive instead.
The messaging has been all over the place and beforehand I’ve been thoroughly convinced that XBethesda games would be exclusive but the mixed messaging has me doubting it, especially around the huge existing IP’s.
Phil’s latest interview to me made it pretty clear what his intentions were without making any definite confirmations regarding exclusivity. It was when the article about the CFO appeared that it became a little confusing. But I do agree with you, I’m not sure anymore either. I can’t help but feel it would be a big mistake if they don’t lock down a brand new BGS IP like Starfield and of course TES VI which is still years away. It would be so weird to see Xbox release a multiplatform game in what 2025 or so? And I also can’t see at all how this would help upping their Game Pass subscriber base. Tim said through the Bethesda pipeline it will up their subs, will it though, if you intend to still release for the competition? Nah.
We’ll see. The expectation is now that the deal will be final early next year?

So… An october 26 story being “remembered” now by Xbox Wire and Retweeted by Phil Spencer now… interesting. 
Maybe it is a hot take from me, but I too would love to see it happen, to have all the “purist” and " big fans" leave the franchise, and have the community be more fresh and open-minded.
Don’t know how you can make an artbook without spoilers but who knows what’s going on with this artbook…

So my two friends who are pure Sony guys, got a Series X instead to start this generation.
They messaged me this morning saying they haven’t slept all night because of Game Pass. They said the hardware is 10/10 and being able to just browse games and download them from Game Pass is the way gaming should be done.
They’re basically the mass gaming demographic that only play COD and Fifa.

My brother works at Mediamarkt here and he told me one customer bought 5 PS5 units today and proudly said “one for me, the rest goes on to Marketplace” called Marktplaats in Dutch. Basically like Ebay really.
This kind of shit needs to be forbidden really. One or max two units per household. Of course friends or relatives can always pick more up, it’s hard to check that but just a maximum of two per household should be possible I would hope for a store to regulate.

On top of that the fact that they are hard to get as it is, XSX too. Fuck outta here with those losers man.

Most stores here have a one per customer limit, so I’m surprised the retailer is allowing that .

Watchdogs Legion is currently £40 on Black Friday sales on MS store. Brand new game, already £40, picked that up with no delay!

Oh man, I kinda wish I waited with getting the XSX right away. The game bundled in is awesome. It’s not a custom console in terms of design though, so ah well.

It’s bad because the scalpers can set the prices exorbitantly high, they don’t have to worry about being stuck with the console. They just return the console to the store if they can’t sell them.
