Xbox Game Studios |OT2| It's pronounced "Krayg" not "Kreg"

They announced that Battletoads hit a million players a couple of weeks ago.

Best buy canada seems to be much worse since I’ve seen many aren’t getting their console until Thursday or Friday. However I seen some shady stuff from Amazon Canada like even raising the retail price to $689.99

Yeah. This is crazy that the Xbox was close to being closed in 2014. Yet they still continued. if that had happened it would be a historic mistake that Microsoft would have made, equivalent even with Nokia and Windows Phone.

Now things are very well. The Xbox went from almost being closed to a valuable asset for Microsoft. The largest First-party gaming organization in the world is the Xbox. Yes, this is crazy.

No, I ordered from the Microsoft Store, and I live in the US.

Love it, I can already feel the raw power coming from the console!

I wanted to show off my worse-than-amature photography skills when my Series X got here. But my kids manic side of his spectrum got in the way and he tore into everything.

…I’m scared to be in the same zip code when he opens his this holiday.  (He has NO clue!)

I don’t know, for me is kind of worrisome that they even thought about closing it due to a bad launch. I mean, with all 360 problems it was a very successful console in the end, and the possibility of they let millions of players that invested on their platform in the dark without even trying to fix the issues is kinda scary. I guess this is how big corps work afterall, money talks louder and ppl that invested in a product or plataform, if it fails and get closed, are just a colateral damage. Or maybe Phil’s words were over exaggerated. Anyways, we are now in a new generation and I hope it is successful for Xbox, for sure it is up for much better start than the Xbox One.

By the way this console design is much more intricate than we give it credit for. Its a monolithic tower that sits on your shelf, it gives such an iconic vibe. The power, speed, and quietness is just unprecedented in this small of a form factor.

I have mine placed on the left of my TV and entirely visible on a white shelf, looks like an industrial piece of hardware from the guggenheim museum.

One more comment on it, the 1TB expansion card is the most elegant solution for upgrading space. No more external hard drives attached with a USB for me.

I think we have to understand the context of the time, 2014 a difficult year for MS in general, Windows Phone in decline, Windows 8, 8.1 heavily criticized, change of CEO leaves Ballmer and enters Satya, and of course the launch of Xone… The Satya Nadella management is very different from that of Steve Ballmer, who was ahead in the Xbox 360 years. Everything has changed. Thats why you hear this thought of closing the Xbox in 2014. I think closing or leaving the console business, becoming a “Sega”. I think that was the fate of Xbox if they had given up in 2014. It would be a shot in the foot. See, 2020: Amazon with Luna, Google with Stadia, Apple with Arcade. MS would be very bad now without the Xbox.

If I turn off the Series X for like 20-30 minutes, my downloads stop! Anybody know what’s up with that?

This console is goddamn amazing…so in love with it and the controller already.

The packaging was top notch and I appreciate the fact they put the time and care into it to make it feel premium and special, makes me the consumer feel great right off the bat.

The ease and convenience of this thing is just unparalleled, I can’t believe how easy everything has been so far.

I know a lot of people wanted a new UI but man it’s so snappy and quick now and I know it well so it makes flying around it so easy…a small thing but I’m kinda glad TBH.

I can’t believe how quiet it is too, you wouldn’t even know it’s on.

The team completely knocked it out of the park on a hardware, OS, and services level…

Well, I got mine a little late, but all I can say is wow. This, unlike the first Xbox One, feels like a true generational leap. I turn it on and a get the dreaded “must update” screen. Normally, that means press start and go make a snack. This bad boy did it in about 2 minutes. Tried auto resume. Amazing. Now I wait for my Series X games to download.

Is it in Power Save or Instant On mode? Power Save from what I gather is practically “off”.

I’m getting by some screen tearing here and there. It’s the only performance hiccup I’m having. Damn shame.

Instant On. I did just now notice I had a setting on to “turn storage off when console was off”, I unchecked that now, so we’ll see.

It hurts when I see this because I want these kinda numbers for Bleeding Edge but I don’t we’ll ever see it because the devs seem to have abandoned it

Where’d you find that setting? Haven’t been able to play much at all, and download speeds have been a lot rougher than usual, but I’m attributing that to launch day server load.
