They will. Five years is their usual cadence and I don’t expect that to change.
The next game is probably in early production and needs the design nailed down before Arkane goes all hands on board with it. Until then, the rest of the studio can fix/tinker with Redfall.
I think it’s more likely that in 2024 we’ll see a gameplay trailer. Not the full release. I think that’s what they are referring to.
Yeah, this period is equivalent to when Redfall was being spun up but the majority of ArkAus were working on Mooncrash.
Fair, but early 2025 release would still fall within “1-2 years” (I do think there’s a chance South of Midnight is late 2024).
They waited to announce South of Midnight and Clockwork Revolution when they had in-engine/gameplay so they aren’t years and years away.
Halo Infinite was in engine all the way back when. It didn’t release for ages afterwards.
That said, I agree it’s likely to be an early 2025 game. MS want to stagger releases all year these days and, as much as I’m really excited for SOM, I don’t think it will be the “prestige” release for that year in the Xmas run up. It’s much more likely to be Indiana Jones.
It is worth it if they have a plan, some roadmap to fix it. If there is no roadmap, leave it and move on.
There’s in-engine and “in-engine.” Halo Infinite was the latter. I think South of Midnight is the former.
Halo Infinite did not end up looking like the original in-engine trailer, whereas I fully expect South of Midnight to look like the trailer we got.
That would be good yeah. It would be a big shame if majority of the team is on Redfall, but that is no way the case here.
I think the majority of the team are on Redfall while the next project is in pre-production, and over the next year people will gradually move over. Mooncrash was a year after Prey and it was only after Mooncrash that the whole team moved on to Redfall.
I love how it looks too haha, I was mainly referring to the 2020 demo and the campaign (I love how the campaign looks too but it doesn’t look like the 2018 trailer).
I wonder if Candy Crush ever did any cross promotion events, like how Overwatch and Warzone are doing now for Diablo IV.
So strange seeing Bobby in that photo, smiling away like he isn’t the devil incarnate, responsible for mistreating so many of his staff.
Phil must really be gritting his teeth and to be fair he’s been really professional about not being anything other than positive about him.

Didn’t know they have that many. Wow.
Plenty of staff for CoD support and other games!
They’re professionals. I’m sure he’s had to work with countless of people who have really bad skeletons in their closets throughout his career. You don’t get to those high places without encountering them.
