Towerborne, Ara, Hellblade, MSFS, Avowed, Contraband, Fable. In that order.
Maybe replace Contraband with South of Midnight. We’ll see.
There’s definitely 1-2 more AAA games coming in 2024.

While I believe Fable (and Clockwork Revolution) are in good spots I think MS would like to give them a year for more polish/additional content. Especially if Contraband/South of Midnight/Zenimax online project are good to launch next year. But yeah, a lot to look forward to, the first party engine is full steam ahead.
I think Fable is way ahead of ZOS, personally. And I think it’ll get the polish by virtue of Turn 10, the Playground Horizon team and Eidos (and maybe other studios) helping them out.
Could be wrong though. We’ll see.
MSFS2024> Ara > Towerborne > Age of Mythology Retold >Avowed
I think Contraband is a 2025 title cause we have seen nothing, South of Midnight looks a bit further away. Hellblade 2 will probably come out next year but I could easily see it slipping into 2025. Its Microsofts Silksong at this point for me, itll come out when it comes out lol
Microsoft’s Silksong is Silksong lol
And also Everwild.
Silksong is multiplatform and 3rd party though. No Hellblade 2 is Microsofts Silksong. Everwild is Microsofts Starcraft: Ghost…until the deal goes thru then Starcraft: Ghost is Microsofts Starcraft: Ghost lol.
Feels like Playground wins this every year
That October can come sooner.
That’s a lot.
Almost $2B per year. This is insane. Gotta feel bad for expensive AAA games that some that can barely break-even when something on mobile can cost nothing and generate billions. Oof.
I don’t feel very good about this game, and maybe that’s why it’s been delayed internally, (acc to Grubb and Jez). This studio Avalanche have consistent recent history of releasing barely functional base but extremely barebones live-service games that only get decent like two years later. It’s something even from their history like Just Cause which ALL felt like any deep design or content additions were not even considered and shipped with very basic content and design, Mad Max (which I like) was the only game of theirs that has felt somewhat complete and full featured. Maybe that’s why it’s been so long in development even after being initially scheduled for 2021 according to Jez.
I don’t think they have ever released a GOOD game. Mad Max had some good parts and was an average to above average title but they aren’t a studio that makes me exciting…especially with recent history.

Gotta respect how much they’ve supported the game
A SoD3 with a bigger budget, production and time in the oven could be really huge
Subtract Contraband and South of Midnight and I agree.

Love that Playground always tries to push the limit in whatever they do. The facial animations in the last trailer were top tier.
The Fable trailer looked next NEXT gen lol
Maybe ForzaTech was the right engine after all. Who knew!
