While I usually don’t mind “bloat” in my RPG’s, it’s been nice to have everything feel hand crafted on my journey with Avowed. I’m around 35ish hours in and the combat/exploration still feels fresh as ever.
Been playing KCD2. Absolutely love the world and writing so far, but finding the survival mechanics very over bearing. Makes me feel dumb as the game reviewed so well but I find having to eat / sleep and feed my dog in a video game very tedious…
Talk about it! I started the 1st game recently, the opening prologue was cool but after 4hrs I dropped it because of the lock picking mechanic was terrible. You aren’t dumb. It’s a tough game.
Think I am near the end of the first biome now in Avowed. The game is in some ways the total opposite to what I expected. I still think the writing, so far ar least, has been good as has the voice acting.
The main town Paradis felt absolutely dead inside though. Just feels bizarre to me
I’m 24 hours in and I’m really enjoying the combat and exploration, the writing and story are also good. If there’s one thing they need to work on in a sequel / expansion though it is 100% the NPCs in the game feel lifeless unless they’re specifically part of a quest, which makes most the cities feel lifeless.
