I think Halo infinite is at a place they could try marketing a little more
I meant to put evil laughter there
I’m enjoying Hellblade. I don’t get the perfect 10/10, 5/5 scores but I’m liking the parts I like and not being too bothered by the parts I don’t (puzzles) in fact, in general I don’t like puzzles so the very simplistic style of puzzles in the game so far I’ve kinda enjoyed.
I really like the combat; it’s not deep but I do get a bit excited when I see a battle coming up. I did like HB1 but I wasn’t that excited to play another one and some of the negatives reviews fed that sentiment but I like this, it’s good.
The closer we get to June the more I am looking forward to Avowed updates. It’s UE5 and DF said it’s quite challenging for these consoles to handle that with high framerates, which you can absolutely see in Immortals, it’s not steady.
But hopefully they can get that at 60fps, we’ve really been “spoilt” by all that 60fps goodness ever since Xbox Series came out. And going back to 30fps is just jarring. Perhaps 40fps?
If it’s the first 3 symbol gate then that took me a bit of time too because (spoilered just in case but it’s not)
while most of the ruined houses you can just run into and ones you can’t are blocked off there is a house that you need to interact with the door to enter
If anything, I’m happy Hellblade 2 is divisive. It shows that Ninja Theory was able to realize their vision for the game, that creativity was allowed. Not many publishers would have been fine with that, and I think most would have demanded a copy of God of War.
If variety doesn’t exist, then I’m out of gaming. I was close last gen when Xbox was in desert zone and PS keeps bringing similar game with a different setting. It’s been a while since I play HB type of game, so I am ready to venture there.
greg is so pathetic
Thanks for sharing, I don’t watch Xcast as personally I can’t stand the panel but I agree with Mike here we should be celebrating an amazing game not freaking discussing Xbox strategy again.
Miller is so wrong here IMO, combat is a significant improvement over the original and far more enjoyable.
I’m not sure what he is expecting from the combat, we know they can do more fluid combat as Ninja developed DmC, however DmC combat won’t suit the style of game they have developed.
I mean can you imagine this in Hellblade - it just wouldn’t work:
I haven’t completed it yet, however the only thing I haven’t yet seen a significant improvement in is the puzzles so he may have a point there but I’ll wait until I finish the game to pass comment. It’s still a significant improvement in combat, story and visuals in what was already an incredible 1st game.
Mike was right, Greg doesn’t want hellblade to exist, he wants them to just make cookie cutter copies of the Sony formula
It is odd, because people say they want developers to have their own freedom and then they make literal art and then they moan that shouldn’t have made what they made .
The ironic thing is if Ninja Theory did develop a Sony clone I think it would blow them out of the water, especially with their history of Heavenly Sword, DmC and Enslaved.
He’s just so “concerned” *tm!
I watched it last night and was happy to see Mike call him out on his take. The game is a win and saying it’s not just contributes to this annoying discourse of anything that doesn’t score at least a 9 on MC or OC as being trash.
That’s why I don’t get some of the tweets I’m seeing about how the gameplay is so strangely shallow. It’s interesting to see how the opinions really differ, even those that loved the first.
Especially when many outlets have displayed clear bias
With IGN now having acquired many, it’s gonna be a bloodbath, so to speak. Avowed, Indiana Jones, etc…watch out.
I do get where some are coming from, i.e wishing it was more ‘gamey’ however that’s what the game is designed to be, same with the first one! The same could be said with many of PlayStation’s games.
Although I enjoy it, I think the ‘horror psychosis’ theme they’ve gone for potentially doesn’t help with the mass appeal of this series. I think if it was a lighter theme with the same visuals, combat etc it would be met with much wider acceptance.
I really wanted Xbox to develop a narrative adventure style game like this and they have.
I think there’s a good chance that the next one will be a kart racer or beach volleyball.
But let’s see.
