That is how I feel too, let 343 show they can do something else.
We know they have talent, yet you still have people saying their games aren’t as good as Bungie’s and 343 has brought out more games than Bungie did.
I understand they were made for Halo, yet there is no reason why they can’t make another game too.
Just look at Bethesda they are known for Elder Scrolls and could easily just make Elder Scrolls game, yet Todd has said he wanted to push the studio, plus it was to keep Elder Scrolls fresh too.
He was right and now we get to experience Fallout and Starfield, not just Elder Scrolls.
We know 343 worked several years on a straight sequel to Halo: Guardians before they restarted with Halo: Infinite, so they easily could have just made that a new game and then brought out Halo: Infinite.
So hopefully 343 can be given the chance to make something that is truly their own and not just carrying on the legacy that another studio created.
Oh yeah this is definitely not exactly realistic for 343 in it’s current state, but generally speaking in the long run I would like to see them have the freedom to make other games as well as Halo.
Watching The Nightmare before Christmas right now and I’m seeing Psychonauts in this, or well, I should say the other way around. I would be very surprised if Tim and his team didn’t look at that movie when they made Psychonauts. Really cool stuff. Movie aged nicely.
Have a browse and see just how many negative reviews have days and days of game play time. Funny to see so many “do not recommend” yet played for over a hundred hours. Group Think is dangerous.
In all honesty, who the fuck cares? 13M players and people writing articles and going nuts over less than 90,000 reviews on Steam. Give me a fucking break. Gaming media have been against Starfield since June 2021 when it was announced as an Xbox Console Exclusive and 2 1/2 years later, months after release, they’re still shitting on the game which says a lot more about gaming media than it does about the game.
And now, we’re already seeing it with Hellblade 2 because as we all know, it’s the most important Xbox exclusive!!! SMFH. Seriously, this shit is beyond ridiculous at this point.
This 100%. I have never ever played a game for hundreds of hours and then proceeded to shit on that game. It makes no fucking sense and yet, gaming media keeps digging in.
Troubling and concern are those key words that people who are looking to boost engagement always seem to use. It’s always the same and it’s always weird.
At this point it is what it is and I think more people will enjoy it after more updates and everything calms down . Right now Starfield is the current punching bag.
Yeah, it’s crazy because it’s been like 4 months since it’s been out, but they’re reporting everything due to clicks . I think at this point it’s polarizing and people still enjoy the game , but I feel this game will be in the news cycle for years. However, it’s weird for a game people hate so much they have to monitor everything about it
And Starfield is not a game that relies on fomo that pretty much all online games use and where people do play them but not necessarily enjoy them.
You play Starfield specifically for its actual game mechanics, so if you do not enjoy it, what are you doing. It is not like there is a shortage of games to play.
These people will not admit it, but the narrative around the game is shaping their own views rather than just admitting you enjoy the game despite flaws.
It’s the reason alongside many others people, including ones here need to stop taking this stuff seriously
Ignore it, stop posting it, it gives people the attention they want and it creates an endless cycle of pointless toxicity
It’s fine to have issues with a game, I have issues with Starfield but the barrage of hate it’s been getting for months isn’t natural and it’s not because it’s a “mostly negative” level game, it’s because it’s been creating clicks and it becomes to cool game to hate on
Lots of games go through this, Cyberpunk did, hell so did Infinite, it was a punching bag for ages
i remember playing the game on launch and i picked the jetpack perk and the moment i tried to hit a enemy midair i felt the aiming was so trash at 30 fps… i could not deal with that. refunded.
it did not help that i just played over a 100h of Cyberpunk 2077 1.6, a game that for me absolutely nails combat in many ways. (360h+ with phantom liberty)
