FTC
Yeah, I am really starting to think this is it ,but it’s so dumb that they have to do this when Disney/Marvel has been okay with exclusives. Nintendo was able to get Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 exclusive, and Sony with Spiderman and Wolverine.
FTC can still ruin it for Xbox?
We’re not going to hear anything about exclusivity (or this game in general) for a long time. Maybe we’ll get lucky and it leaks out of one of the many court cases against MS like Indiana did, but I wouldn’t expect to hear something concrete until they show more about the game.
Nah. The game is Xbox exclusive and some are grasping at the lack of a logo as part of the bargaining stage.
Plenty of “we can’t be sure without additional confirmation” copium.
Those games deserve to be played by many and they are so niche that they barely matter after a few years, where the exclusivity push has made its impact.
If all exclusivities on both Sony and Xbox were limited to a few years, I would be more than happy.
I think either negotiating or simply haven’t decided yet. The game is still in pretty early development after all, and Phil Spencer said ages ago they’d be looking at these things on a case by case basis. I always figured it’d take a lot longer than a couple years to get a full view of Xbox’s plan for exclusivity with Bethesda.
I’m not so sure, it’s not as if the FTC doesn’t have access to years of internal documentation and emails relating to their upcoming line up and if they thought Blade being exclusive would tip the balance they could simply argue from that perspective.
If Xbox chose not to announce it was exclusive, and chose not to confirm it was exclusive when directly asked - then I think we can safely say there Microsoft is being intentional in their actions and have a reason not to confirm it as exclusive yet.
Yeah, but to be honest, I do get it. It’s a Xbox studio, so why not show it? Same as lack of Game Pass logo.
If it’s because of FTC like some are saying…i guess it’s understandable. Clarity is everything but for reasons we won’t get it. Ah well, it’s probably something that is far off anyway, not necessarily next gen, but definitely not something soon either.
And it’s coming to our platform of choice and it has tons of potential!
As strange as it may sound but PS official X account not mentioning repost or not is a red flag.
Good point. That is exactly how it went with Indiana too.
Honestly and all respect due to different opinions, I think that realism is boring. In art and painting, there was a rush for fidelity until the advent of photography. Then it seemed pointless and art in the XX century was all about being different (impressionism, cubism, hyper realism, etc)
I hope tech goes mature enough that nobody is impressed by real graphism and artists can go wild on being different.
By the way, thanks for your NPC from FH5, it shows how incredible FH engine is.
Oh me, too. But both ways then please.
Microsoft is still on court against the FTC. Deal is closed, but FTC is still fighting against it. Just to waste tax payers money.
To be safe it’s better to be vague as possible.
I’ll just say it:
Put the blame on Xbox if you want but the whole talk about platform that is making “Can it run Crysis” line look old language just show the greed of those folks for Xbox’s games to come over their platform. I accept what is what is going. If you don’t like it, deal with it.
Blade hadn’t been announced yet, so any mention would have to be so vague that it would have little use compared to using Starfield or Redfall as an example of their arguments.
The likeliest reason it was announced without Xbox logo or Day one Game Pass is because they are still negotiating with Disney for those things.
The announcement was very similar to the Indiana announcement in that they both didn’t mention Xbox or Game Pass.
So I guess, Microsoft is opened to licensed games, which makes me intrigued. I would like to see some xbox studios take on license games. The dream is still an Obsidian Star Wars RPG and a Coalition Star Wars or punisher game.
Disney is probably going to the best offer on a IP by IP level.
This year xbox has finally proven and hit on all the cylinders. We had 5-6 brand new games, DLCs and ton of support work on live action games.
We won most awards for the platform. Series S gets redeemed with biggest game of the year.
We got ABK
It is time to give full support to Xbox. They have earned it.
Hope we care less about Xbox marketing and market share and more about what we xbox gamers gonna get in upcoming future.
I mean we know the FTC knew about the game, an unannounced licensed disney game was a part of the documents and it’s probable they had more details as part of the redacted reports. It’s worth remembering the years of documents and emails that have come out as part of this regulatory process and that there is more that was not made public. Being secretive doesn’t really work in a regulatory court case when they can simply ask questions and demand documentation, and if Microsoft were holding off on making a decision for this reason the FTC could simply argue about the effects the game would have IF they made it exclusive just every other regulatory body did with Call of Duty.
But I think you are right that it is far more likely to reflect some active on-going negotiation with Disney.
There is a difference with As Dusk Falls. It wasn’t an incubated project started by XGS Publishing. As Dusk Falls was originally a SEGA published title. That deal fell through and Xbox saved the title. It’s more similar to Stellar Blade than Towerborne, Tell Me Why, or other Xbox funded/started titles.
