You’re not wrong, but part of it is because the Xbox Era discord has been opened a few months back and that’s where most of the interesting discussions emerge nowadays.

Yeah, but the tweet by Pushsquare is just ragebait and shouldn’t be a topic about Xbox Studios. Just create a new thread and call it “Xbox in gaming media” or something like that.
We get every week clown behavior about Xbox and it shouldn’t spread on every thread on this forum.

I agree for the most part that we should park Sony conversation in it’s own thread. Heck I Wouldn’t even mind having a seperate thread for Activision until they release an exclusive game or at least have a game launch on gamepass. I feel Activision acquisition made conversations worse because at the moment nothing has changed for xbox users, and I am tired of seeing COD conversation everywhere

Good to see HiFi Rush getting awards noms. Shame it didn’t sneak into the GOTY category though. I think it just about merited a shortlisting. Certainly from my own point of view. It’s probably there with Alan Wake 2 and Cocoon, for me.

The game that got me to buy the Xbox. I initially had no interest and initially scoffed at the idea of a Microsoft Console. I had already aligned myself with the GameCube and bought one at launch (no regrets, great system).
But as a PC FPS fan I started seeing the reviews for Halo come out and it piqued my interest. After reading a few more reviews I decided I had to have one. Ended up finding/buying an Xbox before Christmas that year and never looked back.

I will admit and gone on record that I actually hated Xbox at first because of my childhood behavior aka journalist of today. When I saw it was competing against Gamecube, I was hating so hard on trying to steal its thunder and in hindsight, it did (in that generation). I was hating so much until Mechassault commercial came up and found out people can play multiplayer via internet. It was getting to me so bad. My brother was trying to be a good sport, but then Splinter Cell happened. We converted. Lol.
As for Halo, my best friend loved that game to death, but I tried to avoid. Once I got Xbox for Christmas and he gave me an extra copy of Halo, my gaming life was never the same again.

I am probably going to be chased by pitchforks but I always thought Unreal Tournament was better than Halo (hides). I still find Halo really fun and I’m glad the franchise lives on (unlike UT).
Gears was always the bigger Xbox franchise to me.

I know Halo is the reason why Xbox took off but Xbox Live is the second reason. Literally changed the entire industry and I think people today forget that it was Xbox (often via Halo, but not always) pioneering all these things that we now take for granted.

Nothing wrong with that opinion. It is sad that Unreal died for Fortnite to run. Funny, because the term Unreal don’t work with kids friendly Fortnite, yet here we are.

What’s even more sad is the original Fortnite was actually good, I had loads of friends on the original co-op survival game. When they turned it into a Battle Royale game it all went downhill for me.
I often forget the game was supposed to be something else. It was supposed to have campaign as well.
