Well, it’s good that they do this, it’s part of the marketing and it keeps people talking. As much as I would want a concrete new release date now, so I can finally remain calm and truly look forward to it, they clearly aren’t willing to commit to one yet. Once they do and it actually IS between January and June (July at latest) it’s party time. Just this one game, whatever happens to ALL the other games, small or big I don’t care, just this one game and you won’t hear from me.
Lol. I hear you. I cannot wait to get my teeth into Starfield too.
One thing to keep in mind about Redfall and Starfield in particular is that they have already been delayed, so you don’t want to announce a release date and delay it again.
Actually releasing redfall/Starfield in the planned timeframe (first half of next year) would be a bigger deal to the FTC or whatever regulator than showing trailers for those games lol. I’m not a believer that affected MS’s no show at the TGAs.
The current ongoings with the FTC had nothing to do with the no show at the Game Awards, don’t know how many times this needs said. The regulator’s through the submissions of Microsoft and other third parties have a bloody road map of their release schedule for the next few years.
In his tweet Greenberg talks about having a lot to share and show but that it’s all down to timing and that we shouldn’t worry as it won’t be too long to see what’s next. To me that screams some sort of show and i don’t think I’m reading to much into it and i don’t think Greenberg would make that post if he didn’t know how it would be taken.
Unverifiable, but that’s all we have right now. But if true it would make a lot of us happy. It doesn’t need to have crazy, insane stuff.
Just…updates on the big three first party titles for the first half, perhaps some updates on the other games hitting Game Pass like Atomic Heart, Benedict Fox etc, a teaser for a game planned for holiday 2023? Something like this.
Not sure if I trust him but the release date looks quite realistic. Then in 2023 we would get Starfield, Redfall, Forza Motorsport and Hellblade 2 at least.
That would make it one hell of a year, no pun intended. But I do think it will also depend on if Starfield doesn’t get pushed to late 2023, if so, I think Hellblade 2 is more likely for H1 2024. On the other hand, 2021 has shown Xbox has no problem releasing multiple games close to each other.
Dont know if he gets everything right but he’s definitely been on the money for a bunch of stuff, pretty sure he was the first one to say Infinite MP was going to come out on 15th November
As for the whole TGA disappointment, I get it, people want to see more but personally as some who has been tired of waiting, next year seems to be absolutely stacked so I’m not too bothered
