I hope that means they overhaul their technology/engine development side because it was always their weakness! I hope they finally stick to an engine too I think that’s not healthy moving engines with each new game.
If there was any doubt about a delay or if their wouldn’t be proper marketing…
I mean, a festival?
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a Cowboy Bebop tie in?
Modder, rise up.
Makes sense. Wait for the two characters to be ready, patch it up as best as possible with 60FPS, release it and then move on to their next game.
Per Idas from the EC decision:
Microsoft’s top ten game franchises by revenue (2021) across all platforms, including console, include… (page 68) | From top to bottom, seeing how they are mentioned
- - Minecraft
- - Forza
- - Elder Scrolls
- - Halo
- - Fallout
- - Sea of Thieves
- - Doom
- - Flight Simulator
- - Deathloop
(For context, Forza, Halo and Deathloop were released that year).
I would guess that the current top 5 GaaS earners for XGS/Bethesda are:
-
- Minecraft
-
- The Elder Scrolls Online
-
- Forza Horizon 5
-
- Fallout 76
-
- Sea of Thieves.
I see so many money makers of “titles that dont count”.
Really goes to show how the online discourse is shaped by people who don’t have a clue.
This user identity got veryfied by Reddit mods. Still, grain of salt.
Obviously the Oblivion remake is the most exciting one

First, there is the “Altar” project, which is the remaster/remake of Oblivion (the discussion for it being a full remake are still ongoing). It is done currently using a pairing system, so it means that the remaster is running using both an Unreal Engine 5 project, and the old Oblivion one. For instance, new graphics are rendered in the UE5 project, but most of the gameplay/physics/etc is still done in Oblivion. It should be released end of next year/early 25 depending mostly on if it’s a remake or remaster. It is mostly done in paris, but Blackshamrock also helps the studio for the art.
Then you have an internal project, called Massive. This is for now in a really in an early step, but it has the ambition of becoming a big AAA project. This is basically a “Monster Hunter X Shadow of the Colossus”. So you have gigantic bosses like in Shadow of the Colossus, and your goal is to defeat them in a post apocaliptic world in a coop/multiplayer game. Players are supposed to be really dynamic (by having double jumps, grabs, leaps, dashes, etc), and they will be able to stick to the boss during fights. They also have a stamina system for the attacks. They try to be as inovative as they can on the various cameras and fight.
Another project is “Cobra”, which is the remaster/remake (not sure which stage it is, it changed a lot) of MGS3. Paris is mostly in charge of the animations.
They are also working on an extansion for New World (Amazon’s MMO), by first working on a the next DLC, before taking a complete one on their own.
one internal project, called Ominous. This is a narrative climbing game. Again, quite early in the process, searching for an editor currently.
Seems like you’d need to know whether you were doing a remake or remaster pretty early on lol
it probably a mix or he only seen the part before he left and it was decided after
Yeah, I guess it’d be a very loose usage of the term if they end up with a remake. Perhaps just reworking something like combat or what not.
plus it’s the developer/publisher version definition of the word which is probably different from the public definition
Please be TRUE!!! Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is what turned me from a casual to a hardcore gamer, and it’s my all time favorite game. Curious though how they are gonna overhaul the combat system, but the side quests were the best of all TES in my opinion.
It’s the UE5 on top of the Creation Engine ? So basically plays like Oblivion, but looks better because of UE5 ?
Why not just re-release it with mod support ?
Weird rumour
Sounds like complete nonsense
Imagine the Master Chief Collection Halo 1 and 2…you hit the view button and you switch back and forth between old/new visuals.
