Yeah, we don’t need a Bloody Mess Perk or anything. But there should be reasonable realism.

If I shoot an enemy in the head with a shotgun there should be blood, not a “-30 HP” sign.

Probably to make it presentable as an Xbox game. (Let’s ignore 343 here…) Bethesda has to get used to the fact they can now afford to wait until games are much more polished until they release. It’s great.

By presentable you mean graphics or just bugless?. Graphics looked fine for me. Arkane are usually crap at trailers so will have to get hands on the game to figure out what sort of game it is.

I know that Bethesda and Bioware have traditionally been different stylistically in terms of combat gameplay, but if Starfield’s death and gore animations are like they are Mass Effect that would be totally okay, IMO.

While I think Redfall will run more or less fine, regarding Starfield I hope at least this time there won’t be a need for an unofficial patch Granted the game is completable without it usually.

To be honest, the Unofficial patches don’t really fix anything, I have played with them before and those bugs they claim to fix are still mostly there. I also don’t like how unofficial patches change things to suit the modders idea of how it should be, like marking all barrels in skyrim as steal.

Honestly it’s mostly because the engine is buggy. But it fixes most bugs and the unofficial patch is mandatory for most mods.

I largely agree, outside of Dishonored their trailers didn’t really convey what their games are about, that’s because it’s hard because the game design is systems and experimentation driven. Redfall in the trailers looks a looter shooter but I generally know that there will be much more to it, and an Arkane fan will have an eye for instances where you say “Yep, that’s Arkane”.

I expect Redfall to be very popular with people who have never played a game by Arkane before and to be less liked by people who are mad that deviates from the style of Dishonored or Prey too much.

This game will be glorious. It’s also one of those games that will remain relevant for a long time, just look at Skyrim for example, which is great for Xbox. Compare that to the short bursts of interest for the Cult Products.

We know what sort of game it is. It’s Borderlands with Arkane’s level design and vampires.
