Xbox Game Studios |OT10| Here are the games

No incentives to put resources on Halo 3 when it plays and looks fine on the MCC. Sure, it would’ve been cool i it got the H2A treatment, but MCC imo kills any incentive to remake/remaster previous Halo games.

The best thing they can do is what you mentioned is to have an anniversary event for the game. Also, wouldn’t mind if they add iconic Halo 3 maps to Infinite.

Wonder if they could outsource CGI cutscenes like they added in H2A and just put those into Halo 3 on MCC. Call it the cinematics package and charge like 5-10$ for it!

I believe they used Blur for H2A cutscenes. I think only tricky thing here people will also expect better visuals for base game .

I think Hi Fi Rush was undervalued by MS themselves. When you sell a game at a discount and don’t market it, you signal that the game isn’t a big deal. Imo the only reason Hi-Fi Rush isn’t considered AAA is because of marketing and pricing. It is 100 percent AAA if that term actually holds any meaning outside of marketing.

I maintain that shadow dropping Hi Fi was the best decision because there was no time for the usual suspects to FUD until release. Though I do agree 100% that Hi Fi could have been a 60 dollar release. There is nothing low quality about that game.

I think they should shadow drop the Halo BR, Apex Legends style. People know what Halo is and it doesn’t need a huge marketing build up, if the game is really good and free to play that’ll market the game for them.

Personally I think you’re right that many would have spread FUD about it, but I also think those people would have been clowned by the mainstream. I listen to a lot of podcasts like Minnmax, Giantbomb, and so on. I think all of these kinds of multiplatform outlets would have cheered HiFi Rush on for being super refreshing for the Xbox platform if it was shown at the Game Awards. Also anime is so hot right now. That said, I also have zero experience with Twitter so what do I know.

I like Halo books but this would have made such an amazing game or spin-off campaign. And I bet this will be another book that isn’t translated in other languages than English since 343 and MS stopped doing it (Halo books were translated from 2001 to 2015, at least in France).

Hell they tried to retroactively FUD the game after the whole Geoff Grubb thing , but luckily gamers already got it into their hands and loved it. Many were bringing it up in the GOTY conversation. I even saw many people who don’t really pay attention to xbox acknowledging how good of a game it is.

I can definitely see Hi Fi Rush 2 getting a more traditional pr campaigns or whatever leading up to it’s launch now that it’s established. But it was really a mic drop moment for Xbox announcing and releasing it the same day to so much acclaim. I just really want a physical edition with an artbook already!

Yeah, they won’t do the shadow drop again. That only made sense given the scale of the project, the immediate visual and mechanical appeal when you play it and the fact that it was an unknown IP. Now that it’s an established IP with critical goodwill behind it, they will do a more traditional marketing campaign for a sequel.

I play Zelda Tears of The Kingdom and I have to admit that I miss something terribly. It is impossible to sit or just lie on the floor. It’s something that few open world developers seem to understand; they always rush into the action but forget about the quiet moments. And for me it’s something that has become essential I love it as Rare Ldz understood it with Sea of Thieves or Everwild

Todd Howard says it at 4:32 “sitting and watching a sunset and the world around us doesn’t feel like gameplay but it’s vital to how you feel through the rest of it.”

I’m happy that a few developers at XBOX have understood the importance of having moments of calm

Louise O’Connor also talks about it in this video from Everwild at 6:07

RDR2 too. Rockstar understood this very well.

Literally my favorite part of BotW and TotK. Just standing in the middle of Hyrule field, with the sound of wind and the subtle piano music. Watching animals and the day passing.

It’s clearly not the same standing

Yeah, it would be so much better if the characters knees were bent. It would change my life. I would be like “wow, this is great, what a fully realized world!..but what if instead of standing, this character was sitting! and the same stuff is happening!”

It’s simply RP, it has a lot more emotional impact to take a rest, time to be, to sit down and do nothing but stand staring in front of a landscape as beautiful as it is, it shows that Link has no no time to rest and that breaks for me the RP, the immersion and credibility side of the world

Death Stranding also does it because Kojima understood that it takes those moments when you show the vulnerability of a character, he can get tired and just need a little rest.

Different strokes I reckon, because I see that and it makes difference to me whatsoever.

A sitting character with a spinning camera is the absolute bottom rung for immersion for me.

So excited for Starfield, absolutely love the art style of Everwild and think it has a lot of potential but iI need to know wtf it is before I can get too excited :phil_lmao:

The quiet moments are definitely something a lot of devs miss when it comes to the big open worlds and it can separate great games from the truly unforgettable ones

This made me a chuckle

You can definitely have those kind of quiet, thought provoking moments regardless of position but I do kind of see what Ogg is saying

It definitely adds on to the immersion, Kojima/DS is a great example of gameplay merging with the tone/themes of the story, climbing a huge ass mountain and resting watching over the world as the music slowly rolls in, it felt great

I can definitely understand it won’t matter as much for others, but take RDR2 for example. Just sitting down on top of a rock, looking out over the beautiful and realistic landscape…it just adds something. GTA doesn’t let you do it, but I hope 6 does. I hope 6 has a lot of things that are perfectly normal in RDR2. For example let me just sit on a bench. More interactivity please.
