I loved Gears 5 for the most part but I want to see the Kait story line end because I want to see the characters from Hivebusters get a trilogy because I think the Coalition can do some awesome stuff with them being three different characters who could play differently or something. Or like in Hivebusters, have different gadgets/abilities.

I hope that info about Gears is right. I enjoyed Gears 5, but the formula and rhythm of the game is too familiar at this point. The way things play out is so predictable.

It would be a very welcome change, as awesome as Hivebusters was, and most of 5 too. Imagine the possibility that we might get a first look, probably not because I expect it to be ways and ways off but at the same time TC is good for it, MS knows this. If one studio can show something way in advance it’s them.
I really hope it’s true as well. Gears 5 didn’t quite do it for me personally and I wasn’t as high as most people were on Hivebusters, I thought it was solid but still played a lot like the Gears formula.
I’m not sure they should close the show with a Gears 6 teaser, but I do feel if the game really is a big reinvention of the series, a good enough showing of this (with some amazing graphics) i think would be enough to get people thinking “Wow this Gears game actually looks pretty good” as opposed to “yawn more Gears”. If God of War for example can grab people’s attention after it looked like the series had reached it’s peak, there’s no reason why Gears can’t do the same.

Grow that team and help them where it’s needed. I love Prey to death, but the AI wasn’t super great or anything either, it did it’s job, the creatures you faced, it worked fine in there. But that is a more linear game. Enemies didn’t have many paths to get to you, but in Redfall it’s open. Arkane clearly had too big of a challenge in front of them.
It’s a misstep, but one they absolutely can overcome.
Honestly the AI isn’t that bad unless you look for it. Do I expect civilians-turned-cultists to be Navy Seals? No, not really.
I repeatedly get challenged by the Bellweather mercenaries and vamps.
There are bugs of course, but I don’t play games in a way which has me walking up to enemies to get a fun clip for YT… I kill shit, preferably before they get a chance to kill me.

I’ve been subbed to his channel for a long time, but I find myself barely watching his videos anymore. His latest is called Starfield - The “losing” battle. The video itself might not even be negative, no idea, but with titles like that I just don’t bother.
I like his Defining Duke podcast with Cog, but I have a hard time getting into YouTube channels that plaster faces onto their thumbnails.
I hate this stuff. There might be an actually high quality video behind that title but I sure as hell am not gonna risk my time on that.

I watch the majority of Matty’s videos. Sometimes I agree with him and sometimes I disagree with him but im not going to stop watching his videos (or others that im subscribed to) just because he may be negative at times especially when more times than not, Microsoft does bring it on themselves. Microsoft reminds me of the road runner cartoons. Every time you think they’ll catch the coyote, they slam into a brick wall or fall off a cliff. lol
Seriously though, you guys take what others say way too seriously while at the same time are way too lenient with Microsoft when it comes to Xbox.
It’s not about them being negative it’s about them being fake, disingenuous for clicks while claiming they’re just “keeping it real”. Also people like Matty don’t really have any grand insight into gaming so what is there to really get from their channels exactly that I couldn’t get from a forum or Twitter?
Also way to “lenient” on what? They went from less than 10 studios to over thirty and bought a major publisher , they had one “bad” year in 2022 and started off January with an amazing game , had one fumble with Redfall and have a major event coming up along with two or possibly 3 big titles for the fall.
I could see where you were coming from if say, Xbox had one big First party title that may or may not come out this fiscal year a piece of DLC and one third party exclusive and say nothing about it. That would be pretty “lenient” to me.
Too lenient typically means analyzing the things that lead to a situation as opposed to plugging your eyes and ears and saying “I am your customer, I dgaf”
