Fortunately for me I don’t care about console wars & I play other stuff on my Series X (like I’ve literally just downloaded Dante’s Inferno via GP) & I’ve also got RE4 Remake to finish up.
But that 4/10 is already going to hammer the final Redfall metacritic score.
Hmm, in this review the author says solo play can be difficult (it’s better in co-op apparently).
That’s not so great.
Makes sense if you believe the rumors that the game went from a live service co op game to whatever this iteration is after Microsoft bought them.
Difficult as in harder or better set up for coop play?

Let’s clear up a misunderstanding. Can Redfall be played solo? Absolutely. Is that the best way to play it? Probably not. The developers have been stressing at every opportunity that Redfall is best experienced in 2-4 player coop. Design decisions and the flow of exploration are built around it. While soloing Redfall does have the advantage of being able to snoop in every corner of the map without annoying an impatient friend, it’s also kind of lonely. Combat can be challenging and tense, but there’s a fair amount of real estate in which not much is going on. On the other hand, since enemies don’t scale to the size of the party, larger groups can make encounters trivial.
Redfall is somehow playable if you fly to New Zealand…

4/10 is meant for broken games. Talk about trying to get traffic. They are small and are about to never get review codes again.
Difficulty does scale to group size I thought? If it doesn’t then that’s bad. But I thought it did?
