I don’t really think this is concern trolling, those seem to be genuine fans to me there in that thread.
I just so badly want to play it man, but yeah, true. Best to just keep it in mind that a push to late 2023 can definitely happen, nothing is guaranteed. I do see some crazy Hindle’ish predictions here and there that this is a 2024 release, lmao. If things go well, no new pandemic or whatsoever I think 2023 is a lock.
Totally agree, if a game isn’t ready then there’s no reason to release it now and fix it later. With the plethora of games available I really don’t understand all these “concerns”…we are swimming in games with Game Pass, good deals all the time, backwards compatible games and new releases.
Phil explained yesterday how delays are not easy decisions for a lot of reasons but I guess the Starfield reddit community didn’t understand a thing of what he was saying.
Genuine fans should want the best possible experience and if that means waiting a year (oh the horror!) then they should be more than OK with it.
I can understand the disappointment though, going from what seemed to be a locked november release to a year later, maybe more, sucks. I’m gonna be a sad fucking panda if it doesn’t make the first half. But that’ll be about it, not much else to do about it.
As for the other games, yes there is plenty and will be plenty but I would instantly not care about those if I had Starfield now. BGS just hits different.
All these other games are just appetizers before the main dish.
I have been saying this since the June showcase and I think it was a good decision. Better to make it “2023” as opposed to first half 2023 and then delay the game(s).
I will stay with my February/March prediction for Redfall and my November prediction for Starfield.
How long after launch does Bethesda include mod support for their games? Does anyone think that Xbox and PC will get mods around the same time for Starfield? Or will we see PC getting mods for a couple of months before they get ported to Bethesdas site for Xbox?
Whatever the case will be, I hope the wait for TES VI won’t be as long. My guess it won’t be. Starfield uses the new engine for the first time, so all that extra work I’m guessing won’t be there. Maybe some changes but not comparable to Starfield. It’s also not a brand new IP, that should help too. But at the same time AAA games seem to be getting bigger and bigger, I can’t even begin to guess a realistic release year for it.
I’m going to say 2026 or beyond for The Elder Scrolls VI. Wouldn’t be surprised if a next generation launch title which I believe will be November 2028.
Yep, but the people in that thread don’t understand how some games got more specific dates like how Benedict Fox got Spring 2023, Forza, while Redfall and Starfield only got a "2023“. I’m just going with that Arkane and BGS just don’t have a set date yet.
What’s it like there? Assuming Twitter is essentially dead?
I’d say in the next 2 years as well like pg2g, possibly slightly sooner. It seems like Crystal Dynamics is able to be involved because they’re still pre prod on their next game, which I believe we heard earlier this year was Tomb Raider. So they only will be free to help out until their game is ready to ramp up, and I feel like Microsoft will want to try to have it out in that time frame as well.
Long way of saying, but by end of 24 or early 25 at latest I think if it gets delayed.
I hope Avowed will have weather conditions, but also seasons. Maybe dynamic or depending on acts. So that during a certain act we get snow or the leaves on the ground falling from trees. There’s just something very nice and cozy I guess when a game has a snow setting.
But if not Avowed, I definitely think we could see such things in Fable.
I think it will likely have snowy region/biome (PoE had). Dynamic seasons? That’s just too much to expect from Obsidian lol. Dynamic weather, it could have stuff like rain at least. We’ll see.
Yeah, this is where that stuff is safe to expect. I expect at least some aspect of seasonal changes in Fable derived from Forza Horizon. Overall, I expect Playground to implement some really impressive open-world technology, not just visually but also dynamics and simulation stuff, I really think will make some fascinating true next-gen stuff.
While it would be nice to have seasons I don’t expect them. How many games do have real seasons in the first place? Where the world gradually changes due to different seasons.
I think it was FH4 with the seasons. But it’s not real time though, they changed them via updates, wasn’t it? I wonder how this could work for Fable. Will it change once you get to a certain point in the story or will it be very similar to FH4?
As for other games, during one of the demonstrations of Hogwarts it seemed that the game has seasons, or did it just look like this? It was during the part where they show a small part from the outside world.
