why isn’t Arkane doing something original and cool?!? I’m actually disappointed with Redfall, it looks exactly like Far Cry with Vampires. If I wanted Far Cry I’d buy Far Cry, this game seems so boring compared to even Dishonored 1 from everything they’ve shown us. It looks so stiff, what is going on at Arkane?!?
It doesn’t look anything like the previous games they’ve made at all and in fact looks like a generic AAA open world title.

Maybe they wanted to try something else, should Tango be forced to make horror games only because that’s what they did? What happens if Arkane makes a new IP again that’s nothing like anything they’ve made before next and it becomes your favourite game ever, what would you say then.
I will never get this attitude like it’s the end of the world that a studio is making something you might not like, just don’t play it and wait until they do, it’s really not that hard.

Am I glad Hi-Fi announced and launched on the same day. That way, no one can say anything but play for yourself. At this rate, I want all games to be like that.

I think they might see this success and allow this option for passion projects, I don’t think they’ll ever shadow drop a Forza or anything like that but something smaller. There is a space for shadow drops and big long marketing windows.
I would love more of these titles with a ton of creativity, I have watched so many people play through the game and loved it multiple times which is pretty telling how good the game is. I think the only game I’ve done that with recently was As Dusk Falls, because it’s funny to watch people play it in co-op.
I know it won’t happen but it’s like the complaint on unreleased games seem to be more annoying than reasonable as of late. At this rate, if any dev want to avoid it, pull a shadow drop. That’s what I’m saying.

No because we’ve had games that scored well like hi-fi rush, pentiment, forza horizon series, Psychonauts, Grounded, and even Halo Infinite. Say what you want about Halo, but it’s at a 87 metacritic, and the issues are about post-launch. I due feel some critics are a bit harsher to Microsoft games, but we’ve had highly rated games.
Anyways, I think major issue with Microsoft perception is they need AAA bangers that review well. I think fans and the media are looking for AAA games that aren’t forza, halo, and gears scoring well.

i think another is the consistency at which they come out because there are some bangers years but then there are ones that are dry of First party AAA releases and the wrong perception that Xbox is mismanaging their studios

i got this gut feeling that not a lot of people care about Redfall outside of hardcore gaming forums that are only interested because the studio Arkane is working on it.
I’m just saying this as someone who plays a lot of video games, Redfall doesn’t look like anything that stands out, that gameplay trailer looks like a video game I’ve played a thousand times. We are in the midst of seeing live service games shutting down so rapidly, to keep Redfall as an online only game is pathetic and it’s anti-consumer when eventually these games are going to shutter their online servers.
How exactly is Redfall standing out? These characters in the trailers don’t even seem likeable, where is the public interest? The difference between Hi-Fi and Redfall is that Hi-Fi actually sticks out in 2023, Redfall does not! There aren’t a lot of character action games these days, there’s tons of live service game coming out every month and shutting down every month too.
Why would I want to play Redfall when the gun play looks so utterly stiff and the gameplay looks slow, easy and boring? Do you remember how fast and fluid Dishonored felt?? This looks like a step back on the fun factor.
Let’s not play bias because we’re on XboxEra, go to any other website and read the comments from normal people on Facebook, most comments I’m seeing are questioning why Arkane is making such a generic looking game and laughing out loud about the dialogue being cringe. The Redfall trailers have a massive amount of dislikes too, and it’s warranted.
