It doesn’t appear to have anything bundled with it
Cmon todd, give us a crumb of details today.
“The wonder is, not that the field of stars was delayed, but that it is coming.”
I absolutely 100% agree with that. But it would honestly shock me if Starfield comes out and doesn’t have bugs here and there. Even the most polished games nowadays have bugs. So I really hope they can get it out in the first half, unless it’s truly just not in a good enough state. Personally speaking here of course but Fallout 4 for me was fine at launch.
I don’t recall any crashes, I don’t recall any truly bad game breaking bugs for many many hours. There was that weird framerate issue when you arrive at DC and it would go from 30fps to 1fps or so for a second or so, but that really was about it. Having Starfield launch in that state would be very good. But I have no idea how the first ten hours or more were for others.
But bugs will always be there. Saw a great Skyrim documentary by the people that worked on it and one bug, literally, stopped the whole game. A fly flying into the carriage at the prologue iirc, lmao.
If we go by the way Todd has been talking about the game, also that ex dev it sounds like the announced release window is very doable. We’ll just have to wait and see, and if it does get pushed, as much as it would suck, we’ll get over it.
I don’t expect any release date news this year, but hopefully sometime early next year or so they have some good news finally.
Agreed. Games are pretty insanely complicated any more, especially with hundreds of people working on them and the amount of qa time even with best efforts available usually being dwarfed by play time in the first 24 hours of release due to player base size. I think expecting no bugs at all is unreasonable. That said, I sure there will be plenty of people willing to find weird behaviors and post videos about how horrible the game is. Just ignore them and focus on your own enjoyment
There’s also the aspect that some bugs actually are pretty cool and help speed runners and game explorers. The original Halo game allowing people to flip Warthogs and players up on top if the map in Silent Cartographer is an example here, and the stuff people have done in Reach even in the last 4 or 5 years is crazy.
Anyway, I just imagine that they’ll do their best and if stuff comes up that impacts people they’ll do their best to resolve them.
Starfield and Redfall release dates before year’s end. Bet.
Seems like BGS is finally making a move
Brooooo I hope so, but why you think that?
I don’t expect a date until it’s like 3 months out
Same here.
Unless it’s delayed into holiday 2023, then they can just go with 11-11-23.
That’s a Saturday so it’s not going to happen.
They missed their chance to repeat 11.11.
A feeling
Yep , I have many games that I have not played on all platforms, in addition to life matters such as gathering friends, traveling and many more that take time. Currently, I want starfield to be polished to the highest possible quality and achieve critical success. To prove that bethesda game studios still offers masterpieces. Do you expect special edition of Xbox for Starfield ?
That would be very cool, but when was the last time we had that? Halo Infinite I think had one? For me personally it doesn’t matter because I’m not gonna buy another XSX.
We all hope that feeling turns out to be right then.
Hmm, I see. Then a day in the week. But if it gets delayed they don’t necessarily have to wait until two or three months to announce it. A concrete date at the least after such bad news is hopefully the least they’ll do.
Ffs. Another studio I liked for Xbox got snatched away. Neon Giant.
Fuck ABK.
Crazy it’s still the most played RPG in 2022.
Nothing Starfield today is kinda lame Don’t they have a screenshoot to show?
I figure if MS wanted to move on that one, they had plenty of time pre ABK
