Xbox Game Studios |OT10| Here are the games

Idk I think it is a little exhausting to speculate past the timeline that the devs are giving for their own game, but what do I know. I am sure the same played out delay discussion will keep happening.

But I don’t think we can put Starfield under “rushed out” anymore. It was supposed to release last November, but clearly more time was needed and to avoid crunch. They very likely soon will announce the Starfield show too. I don’t know, just doesn’t make sense to me to do that and then have the game for release in November of this year after all. Personally I hope they don’t delay to add 60fps. Such an option is fine, but if the game is finished and it’s 30fps, launch time. People will adjust to it.

60fps addition can be a post launch thing, I don’t mind.

Wonder if they’ve figured out what it is yet?

Who knows what this game will end up playing like when it releases although I’ll always hope it becomes some sort of animal raising/breeding that can be used for new abilities to traverse the world

But as long as it keeps that art style, it will be worth trying for that alone

Probably

I’m surprised they haven’t done Sega Genesis marketing yet. Maybe they have the urge but trying to stay “Nice.”

Meaning there’s no legally binding contract. Microsoft is NOT obligated to stand by that 12 month window which they never should have done in the first place. If a game needs more time, they will give that game more time. Don’t know why so many people here believe that they MUST stick to this 12 month thing when they don’t.

I disagree completely. Microsoft touted the Series X and this generation as 60FPS being the standard, they can’t release their own first party game at 30FPS. That will affect the game’s reviews, scores, perception, etc. and that’s something Microsoft can’t afford to do with their biggest IP since Halo. If this was a small no name game, sure okay. But not Starfield.

It needs to hit. A 60FPS option in my opinion this generation is mandatory. If you can’t give me 60FPS with these consoles, then what are you doing? Why am I still playing 30FPS on far superior tech?

You’re gonna have a rough generation if you believe this is going to happen for either Sony or MS

Just because the tech is superior doesn’t mean 60fps is a given, there’s lots of things devs will want to try and do with the superior tech whether it’s ai. animations, more in depth gameplay systems etc

Some devs will prioritise framerate above everything while others will push other aspects instead which will come at the cost of not being able to offer 60fps, its the way gaming has always been and I don’t see that changing this gen just because the CPUs got better, some devs will just see those CPU’s as an excuse to push things that are more important for them

They delayed Infinite for a year, if they felt they Starfield needed the same amount of time, they would have done the same

All I can say is, you should get ready for future titles like Hellblade to be 30fps too. The gameplay trailer at TGA 2021 was 30fps’ish too, certainly not 60fps. I don’t know of course, maybe devs will keep offering performance modes, but i wouldn’t be surprised if some didn’t, one being BGS. Especially so after what Todd said a few times in interviews too.

There will definitely be devs that will continue to offer performance modes, I think Hellblade 2 will, at least for Series X

But I certainly don’t expect all or even most will the farther the gen goes on

It doesn’t need to be a set 60fps. Just give me the option. I’ll sacrifice Ray Tracing which I think is a generation too early to be honest and resolution for 60fps.

No way is Hellblade 2 30fps. Yeah, a 30fps 4K option, sure but set? No way. Microsoft can’t tout, market and advertise their console with 60fps as being the standard then release their own first party games with no 60fps option.

I’m not asking for 60fps to be a set thing, just give me the option because if you don’t, it is a negative for me and will impact my enjoyment of the game because I know it’s not going to play as fluid and smooth as it should be.

Considering the graphics in Hellblade 2, I’m sure it will only have 30fps mode

No way. I’ll be shocked and disappointed.

Those games had a bad rap at those times and even titanfall didn’t get love due to being exclusive. You have to remember Xbox one was so toxic that a game like killer instinct got booed at evo since it was on Xbox one.

Even more, I’m sure that these stripes from the trailer will remain in the game itself.

Stripes?

Stripes???

It may, but it does not mean a 60 FPS performance mode will not be offered.

Have you considered the fact that Starfield could be taxing on the CPU already due to the persistent world systems typically present in a BGS game? It may have very little to do with the graphics itself.

This does not mean that a performance mode cannot be offered post-launch too.
