Xbox Game Studios |OT| Halo...is it me you’re looking for?

I completely agree. MS can talk all they want about their broad variety of games and indie games etc., and those are all valid points, however until they can produce a AAA 3rd person game that can stand with Sony’s best they will always be at a disadvantage in consumer appeal.

It is like having a dinner with 15 different types of unique\diverse side dishes, but where is the main course?

I don’t see a game currently in Microsoft’s pipeline that’s even attempting to be a God of War or Uncharted clone. Different genres. Different type of focus. Hellblade will be whatever Ninja Theory wants it to be and I doubt that will result in a mainstream God of War type game. If those are the types of games you value most, you need a Playstation. There are many other types of gamers and market segments. Microsoft is smart to start with those less served segments or voids left by the major publishers.

I think you need to chill a little and play the original Hellblade to see that it will be far from that. NT wants that series to explore or interesting themes. As for Fable, MS is really going to build a large separate team at Playground just to make a ‘Gamepass fodder game.’

Holy crap, is this a terrible attitude.

Maybe that’s true, but damn MCU rakes in billions.

get out of here with your elitist toxic attitude. Games are for everyone and “Casualized” isnt a bad thing.

Yeah, ok. lol. Some of these takes, i swear.

In the overall world, mobile games like Candy Crush/Angry Birds dominate the overall player base. It’s elitist to only consider PC/Console gaming. Sony & Nintendo are good at converting those people into their console worlds, not XBox because of ‘friendly 3rd person narrative’ games.

God, what is going on here recently? Has everyone lost their damn minds? :joy:

I’m not saying it’s going to happen to Hellblade 2, but given the Game Pass/GAAS push it’s a legit fear.

There is no “Game Pass/GAAS push”. And these games are not the final nail in anyone’s coffin. Nor does it have to “stand up to God of War in every respect”.

This is absolute insanity.

No, it is not a legit fear. GaaS games can’t be the majority of what you get on Game Pass because they’re designed to be your “only” game and Game pass is about having a variety of things to play.

Sea of Thieves is a perfect example of ‘Game Pass’ fodder and GAAS push. Yes the game is amazing now and it took 2 years to get there. However I think that game is quirky enough that it got away with it. Hellblade 2 can not be half-baked at launch. It has to be a graphical masterpiece, excellent combat mechanics and have a massive length.

Let’s lower the tone. Do not make it personal. We can discuss with different perspectives.

Can everyone relax a bit with the concern over Microsoft making every game a GAAS or Gamepass Fodder. You can be assured that there won’t be any lootboxes in Hellblade

lol I personally love the sony template but actually don’t like this section of them. I don’t think ppl yearn for the sad dad genre.

Sigh Whatever you say dude… prepare for the death of Xbox then, I guess

Not concerned about lootboxes, just the game being half-baked because I’m not 100% convinced Phil Spencer believes in putting out a masterpiece on day 1. He has to prove it.
