I know gamepass announcements are there, the thing I mean and probably he means too is about updates of announced games and/or new reveals of new games. Usually there’s 1 or 2 good, and everything else is ID@Xbox.
!!! Thank you
Hmm…
Microsoft announced more new XGS games at X019 than at E3 2019.
E3 2019:
- Bleeding Edge
- Microsoft Flight Simulator
X019
- Everwild
- Grounded
- Tell Me Why
I firmly disagree. Tho I really don’t like Naughty Dog all Playstation* games have a unique aspect. But ultimately I prefer Xbox games even this gen.
There’s no “playing a card”, you’re just being a killjoy on everything today. In a way that seems agenda driven. There’s a big difference between “not being a fan” of God of War and the hyperbolic, dismissive elitism you posted.
Everwild is a game nobody knows about how is going to play and if grounded wasn’t made my obsidian it will be indie, tell me why is ok though. 1 to 2 good things.
They said in Forza monthly (late July) that production started in August 2019 (or later) and that their new tools/new engine allow them to produce content way faster than before.
They also said that they wanted to build it with the fans.
Maybe an Early Access in 2021 ?
Ahh maaan Alan Wake is still amazing. Currently in ch.5 need to finish it and also play the DLCs
Wait, you can’t just make stuff up on the fly. If Grounded would be indie, Bleeding Edge would be too. Both are not, by the way.
Your statement was that XO mostly was an ID@Xbox event. My only disagreement was that I’d cal it a Game Pass event. Not an indie event.
Bleeding edge is also (don’t get me wrong, that doesnt mean both are bad, but no one want to see a 1 to 2 hr show for them) The e3 at least gives you updates of announced games, you had the updates of gears 5 and halo infinite in 2019 alongside crossfire x, and the reveal of flight simulator etc etc.
Perhaps. I personally would make sure the base game is completed before releasing it. Early Access is good for games like Grounded. Small passion projects. An AAA like Forza Motorsport should not be launching in early access in my opinion.
Yeah, I don’t wanna say X019 was a better show than E3 2019. It wasn’t.
But both conferences had substantial pieces of news. For X019 this was the announcement of three new XGS titles but maybe even more important a huge holiday (and beyond) line-up for Game Pass. With games such as The Witcher 3, all those Final Fantasy and Yakuza games, Rage 2, etc.
I think Microsoft should keep the thing of the pre-show of their showcase and move the ID@Xbox content there, also that can give them more high light to those games. And in the last minutes before the show starts show your first party games that are small like grounded or bleeding edge. I think that between e3, gamescom and the game awards is enough shows. So if X0 still exists should be a small 20 to 30 minutes event with gamepass updates.
My prediction:
Halo Infinite/ Forza Motorsports fall 2021
Everwild early 2022
Fable or Avowed late 2022
Forza Horizon 5 late 2022
Hellblade 2 early 2023
Fable or Avowed late 2023
Project Mara early 2024
State of Decay 3 2024
Double Fine/Compulsion Games are wildcards and The Initiative could be somewhere between 2023 and 2024
I have high hopes for Compulsion Games. Don’t sleep on them they have the talent to create a really unique game.
In exile / The coalition could be 2025
If this lineup doesn’t makes you excited I don’t know what to say.
Ohh don’t forget some passion projects like Grounded they could come anytime.
dismissive lol i only pointed area when Xbox needs to improve and i wasn’t saying these games are trash, they are good games with flaws.
also what joy to kill ? you are acting like we got huge games announcement today and i ruined it all
Disagree. I thought the way some ID@Xbox games got relegated to the pre-show last July was unnecessary. Especially the Game Pass ones (if they wanted to keep their, already false, only Game Pass promise).
I like the way they’ve set up XO at the moment. Sure, they could do with less filler. But I really enjoyed X019. The announcements were great, the pacing of the show was decent, besides the Kart Rider Drift section. Just didn’t understand their choice of closing with Wasteland 3. That should’ve been Everwild.
I think Microsoft could do enough events throughout the year to remove the concept of pre-shows. I like how Microsoft has been giving indie games the main stage at their conferences. I’m sure they’ve created much goodwill with that move among the developer community. And Game Pass has also become my indie platform, so I appreciate it double.
I think Microsoft should not only have an event in September to showcase the power of Series X with the upgrades for Gears 5, Forza, etc. but in October, have an Inside Xbox episode every week leading up to launch that’s solely focused on a single exclusive game that’s a launch title.
For example, week one could be The Medium, week two could be Gears Tactics. Basically, I would copy Sony’s single game State of Play’s and just showcase an individual game each week with a 15-20 minute overview leading up to launch.
There’s so much stuff that Microsoft can do and for whatever reason, they just don’t.
Some personal advice I can share for people struggling to get hyped for the Series X launch: pre-order games.
When you pre-order / pre purchase digital games they show up in your games list. You will see those games for months and it will build your anticipation for the Series X launch.
The Gunk is a full on exclusive title for Xbox and Windows 10.
showing only old games upgrades is not exiting they need to show next gen gameplay + Games upgrades
