I’ve always said first party day 1 drops is like 80% of the strenght of this subscription and that i don’t care that much about third party stuff for Gamepass.

This said, on a year where they have no first party stuff, they should have done a last effort to get some big 3rd party drops.

Honestly after 2021, with great games, great E3 some nice gamepass drops etc… it’s hard to recognize MS this year, January looked good with acquisition and the ME trilogy which was great, but after that, ooof.

Got big faith for 2023 tho but… ye. Anyways, this is Path of Exile’s month, for those who haven’t tried it and are hyped for Diablo 4, better give it a try.

I am usually more optimistic but this first drop is pretty meh. Especially if you don’t have or use pc gamepass Ghost recon could be fun if guess if my coop team wants to tackle it

Will probably give Two Points Campus a try and see whether I like it or not

I like that they conflated Harry Potter and Shakespeare on that cover art.

You’re not wrong.

Had I been a monthly payer for this service I would definitely have stopped with it for a while until something truly great would be in. I can’t deny being very disappointed lately with the service, as someone who just doesn’t understand at all why Xbox has moved away from adding bigger, but older games to the service, more often. There is still so much to choose from.

And more recent bigger games, Wildlands, but why not Breakpoint instead? And I agree, it’s a very disappointing year when it comes to first party, all the more reason to really go out with some big third parties, such as Saints Row. I’m sure it won’t be cheap, but they have the money and it could be one that really takes off. And I know some big things are still planned, but as Dark Tide recently showed that could change in a minute too.

You cannot force developers if they don’t want to and you cannot make the games out of the thin air.

The drop is fine though.

Because they got the data and found out that the old games do not drive the subscription numbers that much.

It may not be a great first half, but what potentially great indies, AA, and AAA games are coming out in the first half of this month?

FWIW, Saint’s Row and Soul Hackers 2 are coming out in the second half of the month (not expecting either to be shadow drops on GP though).

I was somewhat expecting Cult of the Lamb to drop on GP, but you do not get what you wish for everytime.

I wonder why Sony uploads Soul Hackers videos fast and Xbox does it eventually…Guess it is due to japanese marketing or something?

Probably, it would not be unexpected.

But many of these smaller indie games (some good, some…shit…)do? And a rather old Ubi game that anyone that wanted to play it (Wildlands) I’m sure has played it? I don’t know about that to be honest.

Then there’s also still Resident Evil Village, the two remakes, Mafia DE.

I don’t know, can’t help but feel that in a year where first party wise it’s anything but good I’d hope for more aggressiveness, I guess, for third parties.

Take Gotham Knights for example, for sure that would get people to subscribe to GP, there’s lots of DC fans. And we’ve actually had some games like Metro Exodus and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, DMCV drop very soon after launch on the service. I wonder why this slowed down/went away.

Meh month, should have re-added some games, the other best half is PC only.

While the last few months haven’t interested me, the beginning of this month included now. I don’t really expand outside of my horizons too much so I expect there to be months like this. I feel like they could’ve added the FH5 Hot Wheels DLC to GP to at least try and make up for the lack of 1st party titles this year.

Over the next 12 months though I should be playing Starfield, Redfall, A Plague Tale Requiem, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, Stalker 2 and Warhammer 40k Darktide through Game Pass which means I’m still getting a ton of value out of GP.

Would’ve been nice to see them go out for something like Saints Row Day One.

We are talking about this month, so bringing up Gotham Knights is not relevant here lol.

They still had older bigger games drop on GP like Guardians of the Galaxy, Life is Strange TC, and we know through leaks that Immortals Fenyx Rising is dropping on GP soon.

Odd, I think this is a great drop. Far more my speed than the last few (barring the last one which was great)

Different strokes and all.

Cooking Simulator has broken achievements for more than 1 year.

Two Point Campus is probably the highlight. The first game was great. Played it a lot on the Switch.

Library of Ruina is a game that I wanted to play, but had broken achievements. Last week they fixed it and now it’s leaving Game Pass lmao. Will buy it when it’s on deep sale because the soundtrack is so good.

That is well said. They should be all coming within the next twelve months or so, but I remain very skeptical if all will come, doubt it.

With GwG just having become absolute dogwater now, I mean it wasn’t all that but they aren’t even trying anymore, I hoped they would get some truly big stuff for their premium service. Saints Row, Gotham Knights, hell maybe even Hogwarts would have been amazing deals.

But…i don’t know if Sony having marketing for those two WB games could stop such a thing if Xbox was interested in such deals.

Yeah I meant more like overall. It probably was better for me to have posted that in the GP general thread.

Nothing for me.

If Two Point Campus is as good as Hospital then it’s gonna be a great time. Wildlands is the first Ubisoft addition I don’t own and I want to play so that’s good. Will definitely give Cooking Sim a go later. The rest of the month probably Immortal at least on top of what else we know, overall it’s a really good month imo but I still think MS are not compensating for their delayed big stuff 1st party or otherwise. They need to be a doing a little more in the AAA additions in the time their AAA output is lacking. I think they had a plan to have something big coming every month or two but stuff just kept getting delayed.

One thing to remember, they randomly have stuff hit GP all the time that doesn’t make the initial blog because the deal wasn’t finalized yet.
