I have no problem with any of that, but it’s going to be about the combat system. That will be the big test for me. Turn based sadly is something I still don’t really appreciate, which is very unfortunate because some amazing games do fully use that such as BG3 and Like a Dragon.
I’ve been meaning to give Persona a try but just kept delaying it, and now it’s already a year since? Damn.
The games keep coming… I have a freaking backlog on Game Pass too now ffs.
Jusant looks good, the Frog game seems to have easy GS if nothing else and maybe I’ll check out the remake of Dead Space sometime. I did play the original for the first time not that long ago so not super hyped though…
The games leaving are meh thankfully so nothing I need to rush through. Safe for another fortnight!
Finally got to check out Persona 5, just to see if it could be my kind of game. 1.5 hours into it and yeah, this story is already quite interesting. The stuff you are supposed to understand story wise is really nice, the other stuff I have no idea yet what to make of it.
By the way, they treat a person who did a GOOD deed pretty miserably, wtf? But this isn’t the kind of game I’m gonna continue on with now, my backlog is too much for that. I really do appreciate the options for battle difficulty. If I’ll ever get to a point where I just can’t win, I can always change the difficulty and still enjoy the story.
Speaking of which, is this a story seperate from all the other games? I mean, is it a fine starting point?
Yeah, the main theme of the game is fighting back against societal injustice and corruption that make good people into outcasts. The game portrays how broken the system is and the power fantasy is “what if you had a way to cut through this bullshit while looking really cool?”
The story is entirely unrelated to previous games. I’m sure there are callbacks, and there are definitely a part or two that hit harder if you have experience with previous entries but you’re fine.
For reference, 3 and 4 are like that too. There’s some connective tissue and recurring elements but they’re essentially standalone. The first three games (Persona 3 is the 4th game) which predate the current style are a different kettle of fish altogether and you’re fine ignoring them entirely.
Story wise I’m curious to find out more what is causing those traffic accidents, what causes people to go all weird as we can see in the anime bits.
Speaking of, is there a full Persona 5 anime available too or are those scenes solely for the game? No idea when I’m really gonna get on this, because Starfield and other stuff is taking up all my time. If it perhaps comes back to GP next year, great, but if not I’ll definitely buy it. Absolutely something I’m gonna enjoy.
If it wasn’t for the crashes, it would be a 10 for me. Love everything about the game, I don’t find it overly difficult so far, I’m up to week 15, so it might spoke in difficulty further on perhaps.
I will probably wait for the patch before playing further, as I’ve played the last mission 3 times only for the game to crash right near the end every time.
Fired up my endgame Ishin save on the cloud to get rewards points and saw that it had touch controls.
Ran around a bit and did a random fight, surprisingly decent! The default positioning of the touch controls makes it practically impossible to do a tiger drop, though.
I know that cloud is far from their priority right now, but I was really impressed with how fast it launched and smoothly it ran. I hope xCloud keeps going, even though it would probably be my least favorite way to run a game.
