Xbox Game Pass |OT| Our Backlogs Are Doomed

From what I’ve seen on Twitter there are still plenty of Xbox employees only just getting back to work today. I understand the impatience (I want to write articles!) but it’s nice to see people actually get time off from an American company.

The only responsible course of action is to wildly speculate and get extremely angry and disappointed when outlandish guesses aren’t true.

I’ll start: the delay is because they’re ironing out the cloud-only tier and giving every game in your library a free cloud license as well.

I think we’ll get Elden Ring.

OMG

It’s because they need to prepare a graphic big enough to show the entire backlogs of Atlus, Falcom, NIS, and Gust coming to Game Pass in one drop!!!

OMG I am so excited! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

So…

  • Cloud tier and full streaming of owned games
  • Elden Ring
  • FromSoft aqcuisition
  • Atlus, Falcom, NIS, Gust complete backlogs

Don’t they have anything planned for second half of the month? Disappointed tbh.

Nah, Elden Ring 2.

I know right? What have you done for me lately, Phil? I’m really concerned about Xbox losing all their momentum because a few games got moneyhatted, it’s like they’re not doing anything.

The games will be announced when they get announced. No point whining about it not happy on a certain day. Surely you’ve all got plenty to play in the meantime.

I do think asking for MS to be consistent or at least transparent is just a tad bit better than “whining”.

They announced last year’s games on January 4th, the Tuesday after New Years. People have every right to be a bit confused imo.

Just because MS has announced something on a specific day 12 months ago doesn’t mean it’s set it stone to happen again every 12 months after that.

I’m just as keen to hear about new games being added but there’s no point “whining” about it. Comes across as very entitled. They’ll come Soon™

Thanks man. We shall remain patient.

They’re definitely getting things in order before we’re completely back.

They have been getting things in order since 2017 :running_man:

I feel like a lot of criticism towards Xbox as of late has been waved off as “whining” a bit too often.

And the reason I mentioned that specific date is to dissuade the idea that there’s no way they could’ve announced anything soon after the holidays (as some have mentioned or tried using to argue their point).

As a consumer, I want Xbox to improve on all fronts and communication has been a sticking point for a long time (marketing, support, various points of feedback, etc.)

There could have been plenty of reasons as to why the games have not been announced yet, just one deal not really finalized would be enough for that. Things are not the same from a year to another. Either way, we will get them soon, so waiting a few more days shouldn’t be a problem.
