I got to the end of episode one and the game crashed on me on the final wave Uninstalled it after this as found it tedious killing the same enemies over and over!
The Pedestrian finished. one of the best indie Iāve ever played on Gamepass. very cool and easy to get achievements.
Jeff Grubb seemed quite excited about Anacrusis judging by the thumbnail of a recent video.
Moonglow Bay is fun but my character keeps getting stuck in tight areas. If you play this game then make sure you are saving constantly.
Yet another indie title with bugs? Almost like itās becoming a trend really. Last year way too many indie titles had bugs, some even really game breaking, come on now.
Making games is hard, huh? Maybe cut āem a bit more slack?
While I cut indies more slack than the big ones, bugs suck and I am not a fan of ālets release this and fix it later, maybe!ā that is rather prevalent these days.
Game development might not be the easiest thing in the world, but its a product they want to sell and consumers have the right to expect it to be in working condition.
Okie dokie. I guess I just donāt believe most indie devs, or devs in general, want to release things broken and fix them later. Business decisions, tough development, unforeseen challenges/bugs, a pandemicā¦these things happen in and outside of gaming/entertainment so Iām willing to try to provide grace when it happens. To each their own, I get what youāre saying about selling/expectations. Thatās up to each person. Thanks for the discussion.
Brief edit: I think most people - in this case game devs - want to put their best foot forward and understand how important first impressions are.
In case you missed this part, Iāll quote it for you:
I also donāt think it is always up to the devs themselves, many probably have publishers and/or investors breathing down their neck.
I do however think that it is easier than ever to push something out before it is ready, and patch it up later.
Iām sure nobody ever wants their name attached to something shoddy or subpar*, whether itās a movie or a game or whatever. Itās a sad reality that time is always in short supply in game development. Iāve heard some former QA people talk on podcasts and stuff and apparently thereās a huge discrepancy between what they find and what is allowed/able to be fixed.
*This assumes good faith and excludes oddballs like Tommy Wiseau.
I do wanna try Moonglow Bay though, and I appreciate warning posts letting me know I should wait a bit.
My reading comprehension is fine, in this instance anyway, but thanks for reiterating and further clarifying your statement
I agree with everything youāre saying here, hence my statement about business reasons, etc. I think you and I just choose to handle and vocalize differently. I prefer to keep it more positive whenever possible. Lord knows thereās enough other stuff to be upset about, in gaming and otherwise! Again, we each decide how we go about these things and thatās cool. Thanks again for the discussion friend!
On the topic of Game Pass, Iād love to see them snag some games like the Trails of series, or other smaller JRPG titles. Eiyuden was a nice one, but I guess Iām a touch preferential with my love of Suikoden and the fact that Iām like backer #4 of Eiyuden lol.
Thanks to you too! Yes, we probably just express ourselves differently but are in agreement. Sorry if I came off as aggressive, I am not used to nice people and slide into auto-defense mode
Stadia got them, so itās possible, thatās a small example of Xbox misses in Japan. Those ones are not heavily guarded by Sony like FF or Atlus or MH games by Nintendo, itās only money and I doubt theyād need huge sums, so itās a matter of will. Do they want those game? Thatās the question.
Anyone else think they should add an arcade section to GP. Where all the games are in the mold of classic arcade games, very pickup and play with an emphasis on chasing a high score for the leader boards. Would be super cool if you could have something like that and then have more than just the WW leader board but also much more focused regional leader boards (on a much smaller scale, have multiple regions per state for example). Bring back some of that feel of an old arcade cabinet, where you will grow to recognize / compete with some of these users each week on a weekly leader board.
100%
Wonderful! This is something Iāve always wanted to see. I was iffy on replaying DQXI (played on Switch) because I thought it would leave soon. Now I see I have another year! Times running out on Octopath for me though (Another I played on Switch already)ā¦
Also, all those Japanese games that are leaving within a year . I hope MS has been working for lots more to replace them.
I beat Yakuza games, but def need to finish up Octopath. Not going to start FF games because I donāt think I have enough time for it, but I at least own 13 which iāll prob get back into some day
Ok this is good and I hope itās something official not an unintended bug or something
