Double Fineās game hasnāt been announced, maybe itās that.
The last time I remember Jez saying he was hyped about something, it turn out good but not something to hype up like he did. But I havenāt been keeping track on everything he says.

Exactly, last time he was hyped it was a good show but the over all feel was that it wasnāt anything moat people get hype for. So, keeping my expectations low as always thus way I can at least be surprised.
Donāt these DDs usually get announced closer to when they air? It seems like a longer wait this time?
2023: announced on Jan 11, event on Jan 25
2024: announcement on Jan 9, event on Jan 18
2025: announcement on Jan 9, event on Jan 23
Iād say itās hard to draw a conclusion of what is normal with so few data points, but its in line with the first one.
Looking at the calendar for the last two years, i think itās more down to how the weeks fall than anything. Last year there were only 4 Thursdays in Jan, this year there are 5. Also I think they probably would go second to last Thursday in the month if they keep to any pattern. The first year was on a Wed but I think Thurs might work better. Guess weāll see next year (assuming they do it again).

I think I have guessed that Double Fineās game would be there for the last two years, so Iām sticking with that.

In that thread of what we think Xbox first party will release each year Iāve definitely thought DF was going to show something the last two years. We know they were working on something in addition to Psychonauts 2 before the whole team came back together onto that one. Thatās why I think thereās a chance of 2 things from them for their 25th anniversary

Loathe is a big word, haha, but I do love me the element of surprise.
There have been game reveals in the past or stuff like the BC announcement that had not been leaked and the element of surprise and excitement was huge.
I wish we can have that element of surprise currently in this day and age. Times were better back then as no one was at each otherās throats as much compared to now.
God i just hope Higher ups donāt fumble the bag for current users this year or the next.

Yeah, I hear you on that for sure. Insiders and such are a gift and a curse in my book. A gift when the silence on some games was lasting way too long or when we barely otherwise wouldāve have Xbox news. A curse because it spoils the element of surprise for both dev and fans/gamers and things can so easily change.
Avowed is such a good example. Many people were hyped as hell, me included, when after the very first trailer a person on ResetEra called Sponger gave details on Avowed, making it sound like Obsidianās own Skyrim in terms of scope and detail, larger I think even. And perhaps at some point in the beginning of development this was the plan, and then they decided against it. We were never supposed to know.
Looking forward to the show and really canāt wait to see more Avowed
