Xbox + Bethesda Showcase Leaks... Seriously this is where the leaks/rumors/spoilers go!

Out of all these leaks…the only thing I’m probably certain about is the Kojima game. Thats going to be there 100%.

Everything else is up in the air

Wouldn’t be surprised if MS leaked a fake list to guys like Jim Henderson to create false hype

It almost sounds like there are a bunch of lists out there people who claiming to know the show itinerary are comparing and finding out they all have different ones. So many people seem to be all “I know what’s there” and they’ve all kind of backed off. Bet MS is trying to sus out leakers by throwing different lists out there.

Showcase maybe ?

Last gen seemingly dropped, good to see

Guys Avowed won’t be at the show tomorrow.

Because it will be at the extended show on Tuesday :sunglasses:

ME too. Sorry to be that guy. But Last gen is just way too outdated now.

Honestly, as much of an asshat as Jim Ryan is, I think it was Andrew House that set PS on its current course. Most of the good things to come out of PS last gen were from WWS so that’s mostly on Shu and the respective studios.

I don’t get that. To me it’s like saying Halo is at the show so you can’t show Gears because they are both shooters. Or Project Cars is there so you can’t show Forza Horizon. RPG is such a wide term it’s got basically no meaning. You could have a half a dozen RPGs in that showcase and not have any real meaningful overlap.

To me it’s less they’re the same genre and more that it’s a Q3/Q4 2023 game and they can just do a blowout at next years showcase when its closer to launch.

If I was in charge of the show I’d do a short in game trailer to show off the graphics and the world with a Fall 2023 release date to build hype with a proper long gameplay demo at the 2023 Showcase.

If Todd is really coming with a 15-20 minute demo, if Im Obsidian I’m not having our first AAA Xbox coming out party RPG game playing the background with some 5 minute demo. I want the Forza Horizon 5/Starfield treatment.

Let Pentiment and Grounded get their shine and let Avowed be the standout for next year.

What if the goldeneye remake is like, an actual remake of Goldeneye. Not the Xbox 360 remake, like an actual remake with new assets and ray tracing etc and it shadow drops tomorrow on Xbox and PC/steam

Nintendo want a version that can run on Switch. So not happening.

Really want to see the certain affinity halo BR mode. Hoping it’s there but sounds like it isn’t.

Final Predictions Time! I don’t give a fuck what Henderson or Jez or whomever said. Love ya guys, but I’m going almost solely from the gut here. And of course, I’m gonna be way wrong. I’ll let MS take the wheel. Their last bad E3 show was a decade ago. I think it’s safe to say we’re in good hands.

We start with a 10 second countdown that takes 45 m̶i̶n̶u̶t̶e̶s̶ seconds

I think we cut hard into a trailer. No dev or staff intro this time. It’s Project Midnight from Compulsion. It’s an in-engine look at the game. We get a look at the atmosphere, the characters, and the art Finally, as a harpy screams into the face of our heroine, the camera spins around her and pulls behind the back.

And immediately, we’re into a combat segment! Grabbed by the lapels, no holds barred, we’re into our first vertical slice. What we’ve seen is in game. We finish the combat segment, get a brief cutscene, and then a montage of gameplay clips. 5 minutes total for this showing. Cut to title card: Witching Hour. 2023 release window.

We start out with Uncle Phil this time, who tells us what we have just seen is a look at the first game from Compulsion since joining the family. And he talks about how for many Xbox studios, this is their first games as well. He talks briefly about how the show is awesome, teams have worked hard, slight delays, commitment to releasing games at a more regular pace, etc., etc.

He then lines up the next trailer for us. It’s “one we’ve been waiting for” We get our first look at gameplay from Avowed. We see about 5 minutes in total, with an epic scale and a surprisingly colourful aesthetic. 2023 release. Fearghus talks about the game, his excitement for it, etc.

He then calls offstage “I have a friendto bring out” It’s Adam Brennecke. Adam thanks fans for their support for Grounded, announces an August release for the game, and gives a first look at the 1.0 expansion.

Back to Adam and Fearghus, they call out to Josh Sawyer, who also joins them on the stage. He announces Pentiment. It’s a game we really haven’t seen the likes of before. The aesthetic is best described as a tapestry, front-down sort of look. Everything is flat, the character moves up the screen largely like moving a board game piece. It’s kinda between Disco Elysium, Paper Mario and South Park in terms of how movement/the game screen looks, with all characters in the style of a Medieval Tapestry. No combat to speak of, this is a murder mystery RPG with deep historical reverence, social commentary and three-dimensional characters. October 2022 release.

With the Obsidian segment done, we cut to Sarah Bond, who has a couple of special announcements for third-party releases, and games in Game Pass. Some of these are GP, some are not. We leave XGS for a bit, and see trailers for the following, day one releases, as well as some gameplay.

  1. Gotham Knights
  2. Dead Space.
  3. Need for Speed.
  4. Diablo IV.
  5. Assassin’s Creed Legacy.

From here, we get an update from Sarah on Game Pass. Ubisoft+ is coming to the service. Additionally, we get a brief overview of the family plan. Sarah uses this to transition into a talk about her experiences playing games. From playing Mass Effect with her husband to playing Minecraft Dungeons with her kids. Then, she reminisces: “There was one game that dominated the bulk of my playtime back in college. I think a few of you may know it…”

Bam! Hard cut into the announcement for the Goldeneye 007 remaster. Shadow drop right after the show.

We then cut to Pete Hines. “Wow, what an exciting announcement. Goldeneye! I love it. We here at Bethesda are no strangers to games you play with friends. Including, Redfall. Please welcome to the stage, Ricardo Bare, Harvey Smith and Arkane Lyon studio head, Dinga Bakaba.” With all four on stage, we see the title for Redfall, and all four begin playing through a mission in the game. We get a feel for the mechanics, the characters, the lore, and get some fun banter from the staff. February 2023 release.

Dinga then has his turn. “We here at Arkane Lyon are thrilled to be part of Xbox, and we have a few fun announcements for you” Deathloop, Deathinitive Edition is announced for Series X, S and Xbox One. It’s a last gen exclusive for Xbox. We get a brief overview. Dinga: “That’s not all… we have one other announcement that we’ve been excited to work on” It’s a CG trailer. Dark, mysterious, somewhat cyberpunk. Then, we see the logo. Shadowrun. Coming exclusively to Xbox Series X|S, Cloud and PC.

Back to Pete. He briefly updates fans of existing games with some brief teases for ESO and FO76, and requests people tune into the extended showcase for more.

Pete: “That’s all from me for now, but you’ll be hearing from my friend Todd, a little bit later.”

We then get a few, uninterrupted trailers, for some Game Pass announcements and forthcoming third party games. Interspersed in here are updates to existing GAAS. We see, in no exclusive order.

  1. Slime Rancher 2
  2. A brief update on STALKER 2
  3. Warhammer 40k Darktide
  4. Somerville
  5. A few unannounced exclusives from third-party partners.
  6. A Plague Tale: Requiem.
  7. SEGA releasing Sonic Origins, and “several titles from their storied backlog” into Game Pass.
  8. Tatanka first-look gameplay (longer segment of 4 minutes)
  9. Return to Monkey Island
  10. Monkey Island expansion for Sea of Thieves
  11. Star Wars expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator
  12. Hot Wheels FH5 expansion

Now, we get a Booty call, and Matt Booty is on stage, to announce several games and updates from XGS.

  • We start with a trailer and demo for Contraband. Spring 2023 release.
  • We then get a trailer for Forza Motorsport. November 2022 release (fuck you, my heart’s still in it)
  • Project Belfry is officially announced as “The Bell Tolls” Spring 2023 release.
  • Project Suerte announcement trailer.
  • Project Dragon announcement trailer.

It’s now time for one final third-party push. We start, of all people, with Vin Disel, talking about the power of games and the talented teams out there. He then introduces Ark 2, and we get a brief gameplay trailer. After Ark 2, we get quick looks at…

  • Splinter Cell Remake (Xbox exclusive)
  • Eiyuden Chronicle
  • Arc Raiders
  • A few Japanese games coming to Xbox (not gonna jinx it)
  • Something from Riot Games

Finally, Todd is out on the stage. It’s Starfield time. What else is there to say. I was thinking this showing might be shorter, but from the sounds of it, we are largely getting the Todd classic. 10-20 minutes of gameplay overviews, trailers, lore and fun. I hope ya like Starfield and BGS, I sure as hell do, because it’s time for a lot of it. We look at character customization, flight, base building, quests, etc. We get the date. 05/05/23. National Space Day, and in line with Bethesda’s number fetish.

Todd also gives a brief update on Indiana Jones, saying it isn’t quite ready to be shown, but there’s a reason why, and you’ll like it.

Brief cut to MachineGames in Upsalla who explain why they are busy. It’s Wolfenstein III, and it’s set for release, this holiday. We get a brief trailer, with the promise of more footage at the extended show and Quakecon.

Finally, Phil comes out to close off the show. He announces the return of XO, the progress on the ABK deal, and talks about how amazing it is to work with legendary creators. He starts riffing and listing them off. Staten, Howard, Sawyer, Cain, Boyarsky, Mikami, Mayles, Bakaba, Smith, Stratton, Schafer, etc. While he’s listing them all, and we see pictures of their faces, we cut back to Phil, who’s being tapped on his shoulder.

The camera pans up. It’s Kojima-San.

“Hello Phil, I think you’re forgetting someone.”

Smiling, Phil is proud to announce Overdose, a new game from Kojima, designed to take full advantage of the Cloud, and be played alone… or “alone with your friends” in new and unique ways. Please take a look.

We then get a gameplay trailer of Overdose showing the game across multiple Cloud platforms as well as PC and Xbox, a brief look at the story, and some of the ways the game plays with your expectations. You get messages on Xbox Live with cryptic hints, your friends are also playing and can call out things in the game world in real time and share the hints they got, as you work on your own or together to solve the mystery and survive the night. Then, we get the final kicker, Overdose: Episode I, October 31st, 2022.

We close off with a montage of all the stuff we’ve seen set to some pop music I’ve never heard, and then the feed cuts to the Keighley stream with a bunch of YouTuber’s I’ve never heard of calling it mid, because there was no Banjo, the “games looked too dark”, they wanted Final Fantasy, and Balan Wonderworld 2 was missed.

Edit: So many grammar issues. Sorry, very tired today. Eyes are starting to glaze over.

That actually seems solid for guesses, though I would say to include something from Machine Games since I think they confirmed they would be there on LinkedIn. Add Overwatch as well.
