I wonder if it’s hardcore Xbox people know way more than the avg person because they follow everything and expect certain things and didn’t get them. I think leaks ruin the show, knowing so many games in dev way before they are announced is kinda shit. The fact we knew about the Kojima game, there was rumours of Persona coming to game pass and all that makes those surprises less exciting.
We’ve gotten to the point we all want to know everything going on and we do end up knowing a lot of stuff so when it is announced we don’t get that shock anymore.

I’m 100% going to wait till the Activision deal goes through. Why spend 70 euro when I can get it on game pass later.

The show should be great for most people with no specific enthusiastic and “core” expectations like most of us on here. Missing Avowed, Hellblade 2, Contraband definitely hurt, our expectations at least two of them seemed almost a lock for the show, their complete no-show was very disappointing.

Yeah, without these leaks, it would have been really big surprises for us. Also, congrat on Jeff for once again being right ( and one of the only one ) about Kojima and Xbox.

Maybe we will get some dev update on Avowed and Fable at the extended showcase.
Also, the fact that we know so much of the stuff that is in the pipelines that hasn’t been shown makes it a bit underwhelming, the average viewer doesn’t know that. For a lot of die hards atm it’s a bit of what could have been.
IMO still don’t understand why devs keep overselling the size of a game like linearly increasing world size and sheer amount of something is a patent improvement. The “1000+ planets” thing has for me less reason to be hyped and more for being cautiously optimistic. It for one already establishes that much of it shall be procedurally generated rather barren terrains solely for resource farming, and the hand crafted hubs relegated to some of the core planets. It’s very Mass Effect in its ground approach, but with the kind of bloated promise OG No Man’s Sky did. “OMG 1000 planets???” sounds good in a marketing cycle, but I’m yet to be convinced of the necessity for massive scale for the sake of it.

In hindsight for sure, but I was afraid for some huge surprises I didn’t want spoilt. I just don’t understand why Jez was hyping Avowed up so much, his tweet really made it seem like a lock for the Show.
This would have immediately told us that we shouldn’t expect to see Avowed.
But overall I see it as a mistake that they didn’t cover the rest of 2023. We could maybe have seen more of Hellblade 2 and again…Avowed.
Wtf did Obsidian even mean last year? Sigh.

Exactly, we’re like “where’s Avowed, inXile, Hellblade, PD etc” While the majority of people who watches this is more like " what’s Avowed, inXile, Hellblade, PD etc?? "
TONS of cute games to play with friends, a nice amount of MMO updates, Minecraft, Diablo… and Gamepass stuff, all coming soon because most people don’t care about games that are not coming soon.
Objectively, and sadly for me at least too, MS did the right move with this E3
