Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase announced for Sunday June 12 at 10 a.m. PT + Xbox Games Showcase Extended on June 14th at 10am PT (Spoiler Free)

I’m not sure if I want Xbox to bankroll a new one without Itagaki sadly lol.

Though maybe an MS bankrolled one wouldn’t have to rely so heavily on DLC.

There were multiple things that “killed” the series, mainly with the last installements:

  1. The DLC. To many cosmetics dlc that cost way more than what the are worth.

  2. Story Mode that felt rushed and unfinished.

  3. No Rollback Netcode = death of professional competition.

I dont think MS can get big AAA Anticipated third party games on GP day 1 but they would love to show them off at their event .

I’m confident I could craft a perfect E3.

Fable - several minutes of Gameplay walkthrough …looks amazing

Dead or Alive 7 exclusive

Killer Instinct announcement -fighting game fans would feel confident that Xbox is the new fighting game console.

IOI acquisition and a new 007 Goldeneye Xbox exclusive. Mention that 007 is now a pillar of Xbox and Xbox is the new home for 007.

Halo Battle Royal available this year

Forza Horizon 5 DLC1 available now

Forza Motorsport (blows away the graphics of Gran Turismo) really emphasize that this is a “current gen game”. Say it like 7 times. Holiday this year.

Sneak Peak Elder Scrolls

Wolfenstein available this holiday

Quake announcement

Fallout announcement

One more thing- Starfield gameplay

This doesn’t look bad. One potential issue that needs to be worked out is that 007 is owned by MGM, which is owned by Amazon now. (I think that sale finished) So while IOI may have rights to it for a while, there still is the problem of Amazon needing to figure out what on earth they are doing with gaming. Not an impossible situation, but I’m not sure that Xbox exclusivity would be their first choice, especially since if it stays cross platform it will sell more.

Hard to say for sure.

I’m going to do one of these as well at some point, but I’m not sure I see Starfield as the one more thing. I’d almost start with it and say look how much fun this is going to be early next year

I dunno about that they did get b4b (to me this was a big AAA)

But here is hoping they can do something to really get the messaging back on track for this year

This is presumably the last E3 before the Activision deal goes through. Next year’s E3 should be completely different in tone.

Microsoft will acquire somebody else and it will be another “This is presumable the last E3 before the XXXX deal goes through. Next year’s E3 should be completely different in tone” :joy:

So E3 is from 10 pst to (approx) 1130 pst. Fanfest starts an hour earlier and ends about a half hour after.

Obviously there will be people talking during Fanfest pre show, they had kind of a roundtable interview sort of thing last year if I remember properly, but does anyone think they’ll show any short extras after? Or just more with people?

Personally I’d love if they’d gift custom dynamic backgrounds to people who were at the Fanfest digital events, that would be pretty cool and not cost much to do.

I feel like there kind of are hints they might do another extended showing afterwards like they did last year, maybe on Monday or something but possibly with more people helping with it. That’s just reading between the lines and a gut feeling though. It seemed to go over pretty well, and I could see them wanting to expand it some.

What? I absolutely want to see coming in 2023 this showcase. Thats only 6 months away. They better be showing that stuff.

If I had to anticipate, Id say that next year will be full of independent game studio purchases and maybe at the tail end another publisher.

This is going to be a good chance for them to identify exactly what they think they need from independent or single studio sales (like the Crystal Dynamics one) and gobble them up before going big again.

All their recent purchases are basically about IPs and big engagement values. I see them continuing that pattern, unless there is some defensive move necessary.

Yeah but there are some smaller companies that have done that, look at Techland, Supergiant Games, Hello Games, Rovio, Asobo, IOI. Then theres potential single studio buys like NetherRealm. Thats the type of purchase I think theyll get several of before another huge publisher.

Yeah, I expect NRS 100%

Is DOA still absurdly sexualized? I could see microsoft not wanting to be more associated with it than needed. Also, how popular is it really anymore? MS doesn’t wanna throw money away, even if they could lol.

There’s literally 0 reason for the one more thing to be Starfield gameplay. Its already pretty much a guarantee. Having that be a one more thing would just piss people off.

MS helped bring PSO2 to the West, featured it on E3 twice, once with Phil giving a heartfelt speech about it, and it’s arguably “worse” than DOA about that so I don’t think that is a factor…

DOA7 could have potential to be big, but it has to be done right. A new one would have to move away from having $3000 in DLC as you can see here on Steam it’s basically the #1 complaint, everyone says there’s a good game somewhere in there buried under all the monetization, so like I said before, maybe an MS bankrolled one wouldn’t have to do this shit.

IMO another thing DOA used to be about in the Itagaki years was showcasing the console’s power, the OG Xbox ones are some of the best looking games on the system and DOA4 looked crazy at launch.

DOA is a series a lot of Xbox gamers very much recognize and there was high demand for them on BC, I think a DOA7 published by XGS, done right, with not being barebones and with amazing visuals, could be big, but I don’t think it will happen.

But anyway, this is now getting off topic, because clearly there will not be DOA7 at the showcase in any capacity if it was cancelled, though according to this the whole debacle is possibly a hoax anyway.

Even you say that… DOA was popular with girl audiences in 00s. DOA could be successful if they make a soft reboot or DOA 7 within a budget if Xbox wants to invest in fighting games.

Imagine complaining about sexual games :skull: There are some games on Steam. They could get more games like Senran Kagura, etc. If only “ID@Xbox” allow anime games I kinda dislike currently ID@Xbox’s censorship. Wish they allow other indie games and Japanese games too.

I still remember reading about a number of Devs working on getting their boobs to ‘bounce’ correctly when it originally launched. I believe there was even an option to turn ‘boob bounce’ on and off .

It also reminds me that in RDR2 some Devs worked on the horses balls so they would shrink in the cold - what a job!

Because they(Rockstar) have real steel BALLS! :phil_lmao:
