What will release first Hellblade 2 or Project Mara?

My money is on Project Mara, since it is much smaller in scale and got announced about three months after Hellblade 2. Project Mara is prob. a feb game imo.

Welcome BTW.

However, the only reason I would disagree is that we already saw a trailer. So I think we would see atleaset a trailer that contained some gameplay and its not like there are tons of titles they have where gameplay can be shown.

Plus if you show gameplay here, you could do another trailer at the game awards and people wouldn’t be so upset about the lack of gameplay as you would be able to say we showed you gameplay at our Not E3 event. .

Exactly.

There’s quite a few maybes for the show, like Compulsion and Hellblade 2, Fable a maybe because of the likely 2024 release date but Avowed is very likely a 2023 title, even if it might be a holiday 2023 there’s plenty reason to show something. Man I sure as hell hope so.

The team hasn’t said anything, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. They might want to surprise us, until Grubb or Jez spoils it all, lol. It’s possible that in the coming weeks a Grubb will let us know if Avowed is present or not.

What I also find odd is how last year we had Sponger and NateDrake saying to expect Avowed at that E3, while Grubb said the opposite. He said that Avowed likely didn’t make it in time for the E3 list. Also a bit odd how Obsidian would think Xbox only wants a trailer that comes out in many years from then, versus a game coming out much sooner.

Whatever the case was there, and it not making TGA either, it would indeed be shocking if it’s again a no show. The issue a little is, so far we’ve only had rumors and hearsay, and a list of internal planned release years. 2023 for Avowed, but we don’t know if that’s Q1, or all the way to Q4 and officially not a thing has been said on it.

We can only wait and see.

I mean it never was. It will be playable on the cloud sure. The Idea that MS were going to put out a cloud only game is absolutely hilarious.

Acquisitions aren’t going to appear in showcases.

They did back in 2018/19, but it’s a different time rn with ABK under review.

Heard this mentioned on the Xbox Two podcast, when you add the Showcase to your calendar app it gives a 90 minute runtime

I’d be surprised if it’s set already this early, probably a placeholder or something like that.

90 minutes would definitely surprise me, just make it two hours, done. That extra half hour can contain A LOT.

If it’s 90 minutes then I suspect it might be a really big focus on the big games and their showcases. There would be less games overall than last year, “trimmed fat” with less of the smaller games and all that, but the most games shown would be more significant and get significantly more time on the show. I could see that happening.

If Parris is already teasing about booking a flight they probably already have the show mapped out. I imagine they record both the showcase and the extended show during the same week.

But they still add and/or cut down on stuff even a week or so before the showcase so I imagine the runtime could easily change +/- by as much as 20-25%

Personally feel if its was locked they would have announced it with the date. Mind you, it wouldn’t surprise me that much if it was 90mins. Xbox showcases very rarely go past that.

I just don’t think MS want Starfield or Avowed essentially competing with each other in terms of mindshare or awards at E3. It makes more sense to focus on SF as its releasing soon, then start the rollout for Avowed once the hype for SF has passed.

Its why I think we see the latter at TGAs.

Avowed is rumoured to be coming out in the first half of 2023. If they showed gameplay for the first time at the TGAs in December it would be a marketing failure
