Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase announced for Sunday June 12 at 10 a.m. PT + Xbox Games Showcase Extended on June 14th at 10am PT (Spoiler Free)

He leaked the name of Kojima game + all the games that have appeared at the SoP.

Did he do the whole tweet a bunch of stuff then delete the wrong things?

Microsoft will acquire enough publishers to host E3 by themselves :joy:

P3 will become the new reality.

No, he posted a screenshot with the list a couple of hours before the event.

I will be very surprised if it’s less than $70. Also, while the game is two years old in general, it would be new for Xbox.

WTF??? If Kojima is working on a game for Microsoft, it better be exclusive to Xbox Series.

Perhaps but people here need to remember that while it’s a two year old game for PlayStation, it’s technically a brand new game for Xbox.

LMAO. February/March 2023, ESA will state - “apologies but we’re cancelling E3 this year”.

Not expecting this to happen at all nor should it. Publishers aren’t going to pay the ESA anything when they can do their own shit, still be successful and save all that money.

I mean you can say the same thing about Chrono Cross, but it’s not really a new game.

That’s two different things though. Chrono Cross is a remaster of a 20 year old game where as FF7R is a full fledged remake like Resident Evil.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was $60 for PS4 a year after it’s Xbox One release. Granted, it included the DLC but was still a full priced game. And of course, it is Square Enix.

Taking sony money is dumb because they lose out on potential growth of franchise. I think Square just needs to believe in their products and allow for growth. Square does everything backwards like taking sony and epi deals and not putting these games on other platforms. I feel Bamco has done the opposite and found growth in souls franchise and niche RPG titles like tales and even something like Scarlet Nexus. Honestly, I don’t think Souls genre would be as big as it is today if it was playstation exclusive.

The thing everybody expected PS5 to trample over Xbox. Like everybody - from the media to a lot of consumers. Xbox had Halo delay and no proper launch line up and no games on the horizon (lol). It was expected that PS5 within the first years will outsell whatever Xbox has and will be more successful than PS4 (and without COVID and shortage it could have happened). With a lot of exclusive and time exclusives at launch and during the first year it was basically given from the point of view of everybody.

But shortages, COVID and acquisitions happened and it put everything in jeopardy.

Based on what?

If it’s multiplatform its obviously not the Xbox thing

The reverse happened last gen with xbox one becuase many marketing deals went to xbox one because they felt it would be a repeat of 360 gen.

If any big tech acquires a publisher, I wonder if they could come also. I remember on the last E3 Amazon was there right?

Yep I think Amazon Games was at SGF last year.

I do wonder if MS brought any more publishers how they would handle it.

The Xbox + Bethesda + Activision + Blizzard + ? Event doesn’t run off the tongue very well

I have been saying for some time - move Minecon, Blizzcon, Quakecon, XGS showcase to a single week and here you are.

Was thinking how it could be a Sony only thing too, but then I realised Sony absolutely would have had that at SoP.

By the way, Geoff said there would be exclusive games by Nintendo and Xbox. Any guesses what these could be? Aside from the very likely Goldeneye.

Yeah that makes sense, would be a massive gaming event back to back.

I don’t think any current publisher would even be able to rival that as it stands.
